A PROUD LOOK..."
Romans 9:20
What could be of
greater pride than for
the creature to say
to the Creator "Who do you think you are any way?" Paul
the apostle counters personal prejudice and judgment with "Shall
the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me
thus? (Rom. 9:20).
The prophet says
"Woe!" It is not
a good
thing to strive
with your maker,
or to chide with your parents about what they
gave birth to (Isa.
45:9-10). Due to all
his troubles the
prophet Jeremiah bewailes the day of his birth and
wishes to curse it and the man who
told his father that he was the
proud father of a "man-child". Jeremiah said all he has seen is "labour and sorrow and
shame" (Jer. 20:14-18). The Psalmist
takes the opposite
approach and ask "what is man that thou
are mindful of
him" especially since he
was made lower than the angels, however, man is still "crowned with glory
and honour" and set to rule
over God's earth (Psa. 8:4- 9).
The ancient Job acknowledges that
it is the hand of
God that was involved
in his fashioning from the
clay and dust
much like you would pour out a glass of milk and churn it into cheese.
He understands that
we are "clothed and fenced
in flesh and bone" (Job 10:8-13).
The Psalmist also
has this wisdom
of knowing that God
knows our frame is dust (Psa.
103:14). The Preacher concurs
and tells us
that our dust
shall return to earth
but the "spirit to God who
gave it" (Eccl. 12:7). Job
says we are
made by the spirit of God, that
it is His breath that gives us
life (Job 33:4).
Because of these things
the whole earth should
fear God and
stand up at
the awesomeness of the Lord
(Psa. 33:8). Our prayer should be for
God to "create a new
heart," and to "renew a right spirit" within our spirit
(Psa. 51:10). When we loose our pride
we will bow down on our knees and worship "the Lord our maker" (Psa.
95:6).
When the
Architect of the
Universe began his
design he began with an empty
pallet (Isa. 24:1) and then framed the world
by His Word (Heb. 11:3), by
simple command they
were created by His
breath (Psa. 148:4;
33:6). Having stretched
out the heavens and made the
earth, and man on it, God says He created it
not in vain but to be inhabited
(Isa. 45:12, 18). Through revelation
God says He made the sea as well as heaven and earth, and time--which
will end--we therefore
should loose our pride and worship Him (Rev. 14:7; 10:6; Psa.
146:6). In the creation of all things
God renewed the "face of the earth" (Psa. 104:30; Rev. 4:11).
This Maker of Heaven and
Earth is our helper (Psa. 121:2) for in making heaven and earth He used his
hands for the work making him Lord
(Psa. 111:2,7; 102:25; 96:5). Since
He made the ear he can hear, or the eye--he can see; therefore, He will
correct our mistakes teaching us
knowledge (Psa. 94:9-10). In the power of
creation the Lord
God Almighty displayed his
wisdom and understanding (Jer.
51:15). Nothing is beyond His
ability in creative power or
in showing kindness
and in recompensing iniquity
(Jer. 32:17-18).
The Lord
made a plurality of heavens,
all that is
in them, and the earth, and
keeps them all going. Everything in
creation worships the creator
except man the proud
sinner (Neh. 9:6). We
are to give thanks to
the Lord in
the wisdom of
the creation of the heavens, for
his mercy, for the sun, moon and stars (Psa. 136:5-9). Our seeking is to be to Him that gave us the
"seven stars and Orion" for he also gives us light in the time of
death. He takes the sea and turns it into rain (Amos 5:8).
Hezekiah the
king of Israel acknowledges the lordship of God over
the kingdoms of this world, especially Israel (2 Kings 19:15). God
the Lord stretched
out his created
heavens and in them spread out
the earth and all we see coming out of it. He
also gave us
our breath and spirit (Isa. 42:5).
He says we are
called from creation
to give Him
glory (Isa. 43:8). All that is encompassed in creation
contains the testimony that God is. His
eternal existence and
power are always
present giving man on the earth no excuse for his neglect in worshiping
the Creator (Rom. 1:20). Therefore, let
us drop our pride and rejoice and be
glad in this day which
the Lord God Almighty hath given us (Psa. 118:4).
Genesis opens
the creation of man in Chapter One, Verse Twenty-Seven with the words "God
created man in his own image," and
that He created
both genders: male
and female. I guess that
means we must be different
instead of equal? In Chapter Two, Verse Seven it says
our forming was from the
dust with the breath of God giving us our existence. Paul tells us that all things are of God the
Father and by our Lord Jesus Christ (1
Cor. 8:6). We
inherit the kingdom
of Christ because
He redeemed us by
being the "firstborn of every creature"; He himself created all
things throughout heaven,
and he holds it all
together. We have
an obligation to preach this gospel of hope to all of
His creatures (Col.
1:12-27). This message includes the generations that
"shall be created" in the generations of
tomorrow (Psa. 102:18).
One of
my favorite passages
of Scripture is
Philippians, Chapter Two. I find
this the most descriptive words of what the Lord
was and what
Jesus became that
we might be
saved. He was not too proud to "condescend to men of low
estate" (Rom. 12 :16 ) , and
we should not
be so proud to bow
down and say
that Jesus Christ is
Lord. When we
humble ourselves under
His authority we come
to the place where we
can call him Abba, Father. His Spirit with
our spirit confirms
our inheritance in the
kingdom and gives us an
expectant air. Our subjective vain creation
gives us hope in Christ. Even
our bodies groan in expectation, with
the earth, of
resurrection, redemption,
and the conformity to the
"image of his
Son" which is
our predestined end (Rom.
8:15-33). Jesus abolished
the impact of the
law to make us a
"new man" that
is totally righteous and holy as himself (Eph. 2:15;
4:24). Another thing God intends
to create is a "new
heaven and a new earth"
with a Jerusalem that will outshine the ones now standing to the point they
shall be forgotten ( Isa
65 :17-18 ) . Abraham
looked for this
city that God said He would
make (Heb. 11:10).
Wisdom is
as eternal as
the universe and
is exemplified in
Jesus. Wisdom is
seen in creation
in the "depths"
of the fountains of
water in the heavens where the compass points to
the "face of
the deep", keeping that sea in place (Pro. 8:24-30). Wisdom was the delight of the eternal Word that gave the word
for all to
be created (Jn. 1:1-6). Those who know
the Eternal One
are not to love
this world with its fleshly lust and pride
(I Jn. 2:14-15). There was a time when God let go the sea beyond the "face of the deep" and the "world that then
was" perished in a flood of waters
(not unlike that of Noah). Our current
habitat is "kept in store"
by God's word with a reservation for eternal fire that
will create a total melt-down (II Pet. 3:4-10)--even though God laid the
foundations of earth that it would stay in place (Psa. 104:5).
Sometimes God
refers to His
created man and
calls him "obstinate" as
brass. Even when we
don't see his
writing in the stars He will
create something new
in an attempt to wake us
up. He does this because we are
born "transgressors" that
need to be
refined (Isa. 48:4-10). He
does so because He is a true
and faithful creator
(Rev. 3:14) "foreordained" prior to founding the world to come and live
upon it (I Pet. 1:20). He was
begotten the Son of the Father,
the "firstbegotten" in the
world. He laid
the foundations of earth, and the heavens are His handiwork
(Heb. 1:5,6,10). He came
to earth, not in the beginning, or often times, but
"once in the end" to do away with
sin (Heb. 9:26 ) .
In His coming He has
given us the
promise of eternal life,
a promise given in
eternity past (Tit. 1:1-2). After washing us in His blood He became the "first begotten"
of the dead and became "the prince" (Rev. 1:5).
His coming
was to make men "see" that which was hidden from
man since the
world was created.
Jesus now reveals His infinite "principality" and
"power" in the
church in accord with God's eternal purpose (Eph.
3:9-11). Part of that purpose is to
destroy the works
of the devil through the
new birth, for only those
"born again" can overcome the devil and manifest the love
of God in Christ Jesus (I John 3:8-10).
This hidden wisdom of God
is given to
His followers; it is hidden to the world. IF the world had
this knowledge they would
not have crucified Christ (I Cor. 2:6-8). The human eye cannot see it, neither can the ear
hear or understand it, but God gives
it to those who
wait for Jesus (Isa. 64:4). He is the I AM and has been speaking since
the beginning (Isa. 48:16). For those
that dwell on the earth, without this hidden wisdom, when the
devil shows up they will worship him. They will do so because their names are not written in the
"Lamb's book of life" (Rev. 13:8).
So, which generation are you
a part of? The first or the last? Are
you connected with the "I AM" (Isa. 41:4)? He has a mountainous foundation (Psa. 87:1)
laid upon a flood of seas (Psa. 24:2).
One day a generation of the earth shall face the break down of the earth
with a noise and a shaking. The windows
of heaven will open as
well as the pit,
and the earth shall dissolve (Isa.
24:18-19). The
old foundation of
earth shall get old and God will
change them like you would change clothes (Psa. 102:25-26). It is
therefore incumbent upon us
that we worship Jesus
the creator before
His hour of
judgment comes (Rev. 14:7).
To those who chose to worship Jesus here and now He
will give them the knowledge to know and understand about the breadth, length, depth,
and height (Eph. 3:18). In the beginning
the earth was, or became, "without form, and void", and the
heavens were without light
(Jer. 4:23; Gen.
1:2). There, in
the beginning, was no depth, fountains of water, or compass to point to the
"face of the deep"
(Pro. 8:24-30) before He "bound the waters in a garment" (Pro. 30:4). With His
hands He measured the waters of heaven and the dust of the earth, and flung out
the heavens with the span of His hand (Isa. 40:12). These things of creation praise
Him, the heavens
of heavens and
the water that is above
the heavens (Psa. 148:4). Besides the seas and deep places He created
vapour, lightening and rain for the earth (Psa. 135:6-7).
We, as
the creature and not the creator, should give our
blessings to the Lord God "with honour and majesty." This King knows how to dress-up
His house and
himself for an
eternal occasion. His number
one garment is
light, and for a
window curtain He hangs
out the heavens. Being a sailor He oversees His creation
while sitting beside His
private sea, and
wraps up the earth
in a blanket of water.
Being an aviator
His favorite chariot are
the clouds and
the "wings of
the wind" (Psa. 104:1-6).
WOW! While He
watches and waits, sitting on His throne, He has
the company of
twenty-four elders dressed in
white robes and
gold crowns (Rev. 4:3).
As the Lord God observes His
creation of heaven and earth, and His private sea, He awaits the call
when "there should
be time no
longer" . ( Rev. 10:6).
When God
came down to
talk with Moses
and give him
the law some of
this glorious light fell on his face. As Moses
came down from the
mountain top to
give the people God's law
he had
to cover his
face to hid
the glory. We
of the New Testament have a
greater witness of
God's glory in Jesus. (2 Cor. 3:7-8). This glory began in the Garden of Eden with
Adam and Eve, "the mother of all
living". God commanded this duet
to be "fruitful, and multiply, and REPLENISH this "present evil” world" (Gen. 1:28; Gal.1:4).
This command to
REPLENISH is repeated to Noah
and his sons after the second universal flood covers the earth (Gen. 9:1). God's ultimate plan is that when time is fulfilled every one and everything will come together in Christ,
and His "exceeding
riches" will be
completely and fully
manifest (Eph. 1:10; 2:7).
He will be
able to do this because He took away the law he gave to Moses when He
allowed himself to be punished, and
allow us to have a "new man" (Eph. 2:15). It is only in Christ Jesus the Lord that we are RECREATED
into the image of Christ
that Adam was created
in, but lost (2 Cor. 5:17). Christ was "foreordained" before
this present re-creation and
revealed in "these
last times" (I Pet. 1:20).
This new creation in us comes as a
result of His mercy and a "regeneration" by the Holy
Ghost. We become justified by
His grace, and at once heirs to eternal life with Him
(Titus 3:5- 7).
So, we,
in our pride, need to
come to the
place of repentance that
we may have our sins
blotted out. We need
this because there is
a time of refreshing coming from
the Lord. He
is in heaven for now
but will return
when it is time for restitution. If you will
read and note
the writings of
all the prophets beginning with Moses to Malachi you will see them
all talking about Christ and
his coming again
and again, So reject your pride, repent of yourself, and
trust in Christ Jesus and live forever (Acts 3:19-26; John 3:16).

ABOMINATIONS
Proverbs
6: 16 - 19
"These six things doeth the Lord hate,
Yea, seven are an abomination unto him:"
#2
A LYING TONGUE
"
"Yea, hath God said?"
The first
lie is the lie of
the serpent about
the "incorruptible seed"
of the Word of God (I Pet.
1:23): "Yea, hath God said?" (Gen. 3:1). The second lie is the lie of Darwin and Company about evolution
against “In the
beginning God created..." (Gen.
1:1). The third
lie is that of the
role of women in the plan of God.
It is glibly stated with "Adam's rib - Eve's fib - women's
lib."
God's Word
counters with "the
Book of the generations of Adam's" (Gen.
5:1) created in the "likeness" of God--male and
female (Gen. 5:2). When Adam was
one-hundred thirty years old he begat a son in his own "likeness" and
called him Seth (Gen. 5:3). This is
the second appearance
of the word "generation" and
calls us to
Genesis, Chapter Two,
Verse Four and
"the generations of the
heavens [plural) and of the earth".
As Adam and Seth both
had an "image" or "likeness" , so
the heavens have an architectural plan (Heb. 8; Jam.
3:9--see also ch.4 & 8). That plan
is clearly displayed in the heavens themselves, a part of which is called the
firmament, where the
sun is. The
"circuit" of this
sun, relative to heaven and
earth, is a portrait of the coming of the Groom for
His Bride (Psa. 19:1-6).
Continuing our
circular reasoning, long
before the "flat earth" theory, Isaiah the
prophet told us the world was a ball- -not a saucer (Isa. 40:22). This globe is suspended in a part of the
heavens that is
"stretched" like elastic,
and "meted" out by the
"span" of God's hand (Isa. 40:12).
This God-stretched heaven is divided
into categories or areas as
"the heaven of
heavens", "heaven", and
"earth" (Deut.
10:14). Earth then
is divided into "on it" (Isa. 45:12), "under" or
"lower part" (Rev. 5:3; Eph.
4:9), and "stretched..above waters" (Psa.136:6). All of these are given to man and the
"children of men" (Rev. 5:3;
Psa. 115:15). The Lord God who, with Jesus Christ, made them,
sits "far above all heavens" (I Cor. 8:6: Eph. 4:10; Psa. 136:5) and
calls all the stars by name (Psa. 148:4).
The Creator Son, the image
of the invisible God, continues the
consistency of creation
and reveals to
us the "mystery" our ancestors could
not understand (Col. 1:12-27). This is a mystery that began with Adam and is
continued in Abraham and Sara. It has strong ties to Eden, the heavens above,
and the earth beneath (Isa. 51:2-6).
When God created
Adam-[man]-in His "image", and Eve with him, He became the God
of the "Spirits of all flesh" (Gen. 1:26-27; Num. 27:16). And man
and woman were fine in their nudity
until the lie of the Serpent turned the head of the woman, and she in turn turned the head of her man (Gen.
2:25; 3:1-ff). God's
attitude toward nudity,
with the knowledge of
good and evil,
is manifest in
His clothing the creation in
light (Psa. 104:1-2). When God wants to
shame an individual or
nation one thing
He will do
is make them
naked. . God used
this method with
Isaiah the prophet
to display His intent on Israel
(Isa. 20:3-4). He placed a curse on the
house of Ham after he saw his father's nakedness (Gen. 9:21-27); and under Moses
He slew those who partook of the idolatry and nude dancing before the golden
calf (Ex. 32:25-35).
God is
the ultimate King
with a sceptre that is
wielded in holiness and righteousness (Psa. 45:6; 47:7-8). Eventually, if not now, the kings of the
earth will bow and give Him glory for
it is God's mercy and
truth that is extended
repeatedly to every generation
(Psa. 102:15; 100:5).
He, the Creator, has the authority to
take your breath
and return you to dust (Psa.
104:29) so it behooves you to bow and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord of your
life and your generation (Phil. 2:11).
Rather than
believe the father of lies we
will choose to believe "thus saith
the Lord" as
we study further about
the generations of Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, to Jesus. Genealogy is important to any
serious Bible Believer for the pages of Holy Writ are filled with long lists of
family trees. The major issue at
stake in maintaining a genealogy is the heritage all
of us have in the Lord Jesus Christ. We
could be the generation that
chooses to be
the servants of
the Lord (Psa.
22:30-31), and the generation that sees the "King of Glory"
come in (Psa. 24:6-8). His Word
is to be "remember"-[ed] to
a thousand generations (I Chron.
16:15); the dwelling place of the Almighty is
to be passed on to
every generation (Psa. 90:1). We have a tremendous responsibility to tell our children,
grandchildren, and our great
grand children about
the mercy and faithfulness of our Lord (Psa. 89:1-2)--it is worthy of
our songs (Psa. 89:4). One way
we can communicate this message
is by righteous-holy living and
charitable acts (philanthropy). By so doing we can raise
up the moral climate of the
present generation and
become a
"restorer" of the
path our children
walk in (Isa. 58:12). Another testimony
we can give to our kids is to encourage our ministers by our
gifts of support (2 Chron. 31:14-18). If we fail in our telling (by living example
and vocal communication) the
succeeding generations will
fall into rebellion
and stubbornness (Psa. 78:4-8).
After Joshua died, in Canaan
land, and all the generation living
at the time of his
death, the succeeding generation
"knew not the
Lord" and was completely
unaware of all God had
done for their
forefathers. Because the parents failed to "pass it
on" that generation
turned to other gods
and began doing
evil things in
God's eyes (Jud. 2:8-12) .
In the first book called Chronicles, Chapters
One through Nine contain not
much else but
"endless genealogy". Chapter Four contains the genealogy of the
sons of Judah (I Chron. 4:33); going
into Chapter Five we see Reuben
the first born who lost his birthright by an act of adultery (I Chron.
5:1-4). In the case of that family the
choice of birthright ceased to be based on
genealogy. Beginning with
verse seventeen of
Chapter Five is a
list of "valiant
men" who were thoroughly qualified for warfare--they were well
trained in buckler, sword, and the bow. This was advantaged by the fact that they
were Prayer Warriers. By putting their trust in the Lord they were winners. However, in
later time the
family transgressed God's
law and went
a whoring after other gods and lost (I Chron. 5:17-25).
As we turn the pages of
God's Holy Bible to I Chronicles, Chapter
Seven, we have a list of those
of Issachar and David. These men are said to be "valiant men of
might" who kept track of
their genealogy to
pass the head of
house from father to father--they
were soldiers! At
verse forty is
the children of Asher.
These are "choice" men also who
are chief princes of their families, and all "apt
for war". Are you apt for the spiritual warfare
of your family? If
you are not prepared to do spiritual warfare for your family you may well loose
them to the enemy as Israel did to Babylon; (I Chron. 9:1). It would behoove you
to make sure you are one of the
"elect"--"chosen of
God and precious" and ordained as were
the chief fathers of I Chronicles
9:9.
Israel's election
is based on
genetics beginning with Abraham. At age ninety-nine
he has a son who
is the COVENANT-SEED of
God's promise to
Abraham to inherit
Canaan land
perpetually--generation to generation. To seal this covenant Abraham is given
the physical sign
of circumcision- -an act
that has to do with the reproductive organ. Ishmael, Abraham's son by Hagar,
is given a
listing (Gen. 25:12-ff) because he is a son--although not the heir. Esau, brother to Jacob, is
divested of his
birthright and blessing
but still gets a genealogical
listing (Gen. 36). Jacob and Joseph
follow in Genesis Chapter
Thirty Seven, Verse
Two. Joseph is
said to be seventeen
and is loved by his
father more than
his brothers. In his
later years in
Egypt, as Pharoah's
Prime Minister, Joseph sees his grandchildren and has a part in their
raising (Gen 50:23). But, as
good things seem to do, Joseph and that next generation
died and family
life in Egypt went sour (Ex. 1:6).
After many years of hard-bondage in Egypt a family of the
Levites gives birth to three
children. They know
they are Levites because
they kept a genealogical record.
The children are Marian, Aaron,
and Moses (Num.
3:1). Moses is
the voice of that
generation through whom
God elected to
speak. Years and generations
later during another
famine a Hebrew
family leaves Canaan and dwells with the Moabites where the sons intermarry. One of
the daughters-in-law is
Ruth who marries Boaz and then gave birth
to Obed; Obed
begats Jesse, and
Jesse- David the King (Ruth 4.18-22).David then gives birth
with Bethsheba to Solomon.
The generations of time will serve God in fear when they have
such leadership as that of Solomon
(Psa. 72:5).
Out of
all the Chronicles
of Israel one
epitaph stands out above the
rest--that of JABEZ:
And Jabez
was more honorable
than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with
sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of
Israel, saying, Oh
that thou wouldest
bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that
thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that
it may
not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
I
Chronicles 4:9-10
I have previously mentioned
the convenant of circumcision to Abraham.
I come back to that now and begin with the Psalmist who says:
"The Lord gave
the Word, great
was the number
of those that published it." (Psa. 11:65). That word is the Word of the Covenant of
which we are to be mindful (I Chron· 16:15). It is an oath to
be remembered and passed on to
a thousand generations (Psa.
105:8-9). It was
confirmed to Jacob
and made a law to Israel to be everlasting (Psa. 105:10).
Probably the
best place to
begin with this
subject is Genesis, Chapter
Seventeen. At age
of ninety-nine Abraham was
given this SEED-COVENANT OF
CIRCUMCISION (vs.24). It was a
seed-covenant to be passed from one generation to another-- man child to man
child--an everlasting agreement with God (vs. 7-10). It was a sexual operation in cutting-off the foreskin of the male sexual organ
(vs.11). It was ordered on the eighth
day after birth (vs.12; Gen
21:4; Lev. 12:3). I
have read information that says
that on the
eighth day the
immune system of the child is of such a state that the pain
is reduced and infection is thwarted.
Abraham is told it is necessary that everyone born
in his house be
circumcised (vs.13). In Acts
14:31 the jailer is told to believe on
the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved--AND
HIS HOUSE. In
Ephesians Paul tells
us to bring up
our children in
the nurture and admonition of the Lord
(Eph. 6:1-2). As
with Abraham--so with you: you either keep the
covenant or die!(vs.14). So Abraham does
his duty and sees
to it that ALL his house
is circumcised (vs.23).,
and when Isaac is born he is likewise circumcised (vs.19) as
the covenant seed (vs.21). Ishmael, Son
of Hagar, is thirteen when he is
circumcised (vs.25). Later God appears to Jacob and reiterates
the loin-seed promise (Gen. 35:9-12).
In the groanings of the
children under bondage the Almighty remembers His promise to Abraham, Isaac,
and Israel and sends Moses to the
rescue (Ex. 6:3-5).
Zipporah gets upset
when Moses is confronted
by God. Moses evidently
forgot to circumcise his son and
had to be put to the death-test before he,
and his wife,
became obedient unto death
(Ex. 4:24-26). Af ter the Hebrews
are brought out
of their bondage
and the covenant is explained
they are told to remember it as ancestral from Abraham (Lev. 26:40-46). As time goes by and the children of Israel
murmur, complain, and rebel they are told to go beyond the letter
of the law and to
circumcise the foreskin of the
heart. God expects our service to be a
walk in love with heart and soul (Deut. 10:12-16) and if you don't do it--He
will (Deut. 30:6). Failure to
do a self-circumcision of
the heart, the ear,
and to set a standard
will reap the
fury of the
Lord upon ourselves and
our children (Jer.
4:4; 6:10-11). Isaiah
the prophet says the
earth is defiled
because Israel broke
the everlasting covenant (Isa. 24:5). The eunuchs of God's house are
told to choose
to please Him and
get a better name and place for
themselves (Isa. 56:4).
If they refuse
then the opportunity will be
given to strangers who will join the Lord and serve Him in love (Isa. 56:6).
God has elected to reveal
His covenant to those who fear Him (Psa. 25:4). He will not allow it to stand in the hands of those
who don't keep
it--those who are
of a stubborn generation (Psa.
78:10). God's covenant was passed to David as God's choice seed (Psa. 89:3). It is a covenant of mercy sworn forevermore
to be steadfast (Psa. 89:28).
It is not to be broken or altered (Psa. 89:34), but Israel made it void
by casting it to the ground (Psa. 89:39).
Shifting now to the New covenant the question arises
"How does this effect
me?" following the
order of appearance
in the Authorized King James English Bible we begin with the Acts
of the
Apostles, Chapter Three.
Peter and John are in
the temple after healing
the lame man.
In the discourse that
follows Peter tells the Jews
present they are
to REPENT of sin
and be converted to
Christ in expectation of the
"times of refreshing" when
Jesus returns to
restore all things (vs. 19-21 ). He
makes reference to
the prophets and Samuel, and those that followed, and their
prophesies concerning "that
prophet" of the
same stuff as Moses. Peter also speaks of the
Abrahamic Seed Covenant
of blessing and
points the listener to Jesus and
the resurrection (vs. 22-26).
Shifting now
to the Apostle Paul and his epistles look at Romans, Chapter
Nine. Verse One begins with the
truth of Christ and the witness of
the Holy Ghost.
Under this sworn affidavit Paul
says "the adoption,
and the glory,
and the covenants and... the
law, and service of God"" belong to Israel (vs.4). Out
of the fathers of the Hebrews
came Christ the blessed One (vs. 5: it is a lie to
believe that Jesus is the son of a blond German soldier!). Being of the stock of Abraham does not necessarily
make you "children" for the promised seed was Isaac (vs.7), not
Ishmael or others. The promised
blessing is not after
the flesh but
promise (vs. 8). This blessing was passed, not to Esau the first born, but,
to Jacob according to God's
"purpose...election...call...love...mercy" (vs.
10- 16).. God's "purpose" is
manifest in Pharoah
(under Moses) in God hardening
his heart (vs. 17-18). Now, under
the New Covenant the
Gentiles can be
included in the
promise of righteousness (vs.
30).
Continuing with
Paul, turn to
Ephesians, Chapter Two. In Verse One Paul speaks about a
spiritual resurrection (vs.1), a resurrection
from being of the world
under the "Prince of Power",
being a child
of disobedience (vs.2).
In this state the "Prince of Power" controlled you through
"lusts", "desires", and "the mind" (vs. 3). Being the children of wrath you were in need
of God's love
in Christ (vs. 4-5).
As Gentiles in the flesh you were
uncircumcised (vs. 11). This
made you an "alien" and a "stranger" from all the PROMISES
OF HOPE IN Christ ( vs . 12 ) , but,
in Christ and
His blood we
are now "nigh" ( vs . 13). Verse Fourteen says He broke down
the middle wall and abolished the "enmity"
(vs. 14-15). I have heard that in the
temple in the outer court there was a half-wall that divided the
outer court into two parts: one part
for Israel, the other for the Gentile converts. Figuratively then, In Christ, that wall is gone (literally it was
destroyed in 70 AD under Titus). We Gentiles are now "fellow
citizens" with all God's Saints (vs.
19).
Paul, as
one of God's Saints, identifies
himself with both sides
of the Chief Surgeon's knife in being circumcised in the Spirit and
in the flesh (Phil.3:3-4). Paul is an
eight- day Israelite from
Benjamite Hebrew stock
(vs. 5). Paul describes the spiritual circumcision
as a "putting off of the sins of
the flesh" (Col. 2:11).
He compares circumcision to baptism
and the resurrection (vs.12) by the
forgiveness of sins. The
rules of the Old Covenant are nailed to the cross of the New Covenant
(vs. 14), and all the forces of the "father of lies" are defeated
(vs. 15).
In the cutting off
of the sins of the flesh Paul makes a on/off
list of the
things of the
flesh and the
things of Christ (Col. 3). The list of CUT-OFFS is:
vs.5> fornication,
uncleanness, inordinate affections, evil concupiscence, covetousness (which is
idolatry)
vs.8> anger,
wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication
vs.9> lie
vs .13 > quarrel
vs.19> husbands be not
bitter against wives
vs.21> provoke not
children
After such an
operation things get very sore. The healing bond provided for spiritual
circumcision (vs. 11) is LOVE
(Col.3:14). In the
process of healing
and spiritual maturity the list
of PUT ONS is:
vs .1 > seek heaven
vs.2> set affections on heaven
vs.10> put on the new man, renew
knowledge (Rom. 12:2)
vs.12> mercies, kindness, humbleness
of mind, meekness,
long-suffering,
vs.13> forbearing, forgiving
vs .14 > LOVE
vs.15> let peace rule heart
vs.16> let WORD in, sing with
grace
vs.17> WORK in Jesus' name, give
thanks
vs.18> wives submit to husbands
vs.19> husbands LOVE WIVES
vs.20> children obey parents
vs.22> servants obey [employees]
vs.23> do it heartily
This "operation of God" (Col. 2:12)
should be as
dramatic a change in your person and character as a transsexual
operation would be to your gender and lifestyle.
Under the New Covenant
(Hebrews, Chapter Ten) we not only have the written Word but we have the
internal witness of the Holy Spirit (vs. 15).
The Holy Spirit takes the written Word and applies it to
our "hearts" and "minds", and then gives the advantage of forgetting our
sin (vs. 16-17). Under this New covenant of the BLOOD
of Jesus we are told to enter
His presence with "boldness" because
He is our high priest (vs.
19-21). This covenant allows us
to approach Him because His
blood has cleansed our heart and
conscience (vs. 22)--we can therefore
be unwavering in our faith (vs. 23). As partakers
in the
New covenant we
are to "provoke"
our fellowcitizens to love, good
works, and collective (church) attendance (vs.24- 25).
Concerning our sin
under the New
covenant--"if we sin willfully"--knowing the
truth we accept God's forgiveness and
restitution in Jesus and
command the devil and his angels to the judgment of God
(vs. 26-27). Under the Mosaic
law those who disobeyed were executed (vs. 28). Under the New covenant those
who refuse Jesus
Christ and His
BLOOD, and disregard the Holy Spirit shall
receive greater damnation
(vs. 19). I encourage you
to insure your
citizenship in the Kingdom of
Heaven.
The seed-covenant of earthly (and
eternal) citizenship
ultimately leads to
intimate relationships. The
first such relationship for man was when Adam is said to "knew
Eve" and Eve conceived
and gave birth
to Cain (Gen. 4:1).
Cain, in following God's command to
multiply (Gen. 1:28),
"knew" his wife who
also conceived and gave birth to Enoch (Gen. 4:17). Adam
again "knew Eve" and had another seed--Seth (Gen. 4:25). When Noah
woke up from
his drunken-nakedness the
Scripture says he "knew" what Ham had
"done unto him" and Noah placed a prophetic
curse on Ham's family (Gen.
9:24). Years later, after Israel
inherited Canaan's land, (and Israel having failed to completely exterminate or
expel all the Canaanite nations), a Levite in travel stops overnight in a town
of the tribe of Benjamin. Certain
"sons of Belial" come to the
house where he is staying and
want the home-owner to surrender the Levite that they may "know him".
They end up gang raping his wife instead. The
next day she
is dead at
the doorstep (Judges 19:22).
Two others
phrases used in
the propagation of the
seed-covenant is "lay with
her" and "went in unto her". Both of these with the term "knew
her" have to do with sexual relations and
are equated to
marriage and having a wife
( Gen.30:4 ; 29:21;
30:14-ff; I Chron.
7:23). Under the Law of the
Covenant for a man to lie with a maid was to make her his wife permanently
(Ex. 22:16-17) .
Before Moses goes up
the mount to meet with God the people are
to be sanctified unto the
Lord. Part of
this three-day process is
they are to "come not at your wives" (Ex. 19:15). The opposite
of sanctification to
God is to be under God's curse. God's curse reaches
not only the husband but extends
to the wife and the children
(Jer. 6:10-11).
The perpetuation of the seed-covenant begins with the taking of a wife, and Abraham takes Sarai (Gen. 11:29); BUT,
Abraham doesn't go very far before he believes the lie (II Thess. 2:11) and
capitulates by telling
one of his own--"she's my sister,
not my wife" (Gen. 12:14-20).
He is down in Egypt where God
says "don't go" (Gen.
26:2) and Pharoah takes Sarai into his harem.
God quickly plagues the house of Pharoah until restoration is made. Continuing in unbelief Abraham and Sarai
step outside of the plan
of God and Abraham marries Hagar. For the rest of time on earth Ishmael and Isaac are at odds,
and the severance is so strong that it is included as a type under the New
Covenant (Gal. 4:20-31). Not satisfied
yet with the hand of God upon his life Abraham again lies
about Sarai his wife/sister to
Abimelech. God immediately
shuts all the wombs of Abemelech's women and gives him
a nightmare of death for taking Sarai
into his harem
(Gen. 20). When
Abraham's wife is restored and Abraham prays for Abimelech God reverses
His curse.
Isaac, Son
of Abraham, grows
up and marries Rebekah. The story
of God's guidance
and provision of
Isaac's bride is detailed
and touching (Gen. 24). You would think the son of Abraham--father of the faithful--would
accept these things by faith; however, Isaac falls for the same lie of his
father ( family tradition) and
calls Rebekah his
sister (Gen. 26:7-ff ) . In the mean while
Abraham marries another (Keturah) and adds to his
family problems (Gen. 25).
As the family progresses Isaac had Jacob and Esau.
Jacob is sent back East to keep
his marriage "in the family." Esau seeing the prejudicial love
of his mother toward Jacob intermarries
with the local pagans (Gen. 28:8-9).
Years later under the law of Moses, (God wanting to exemplify His
purity, rules that the priests wives cannot be whores,
profane, or divorcees (Lev. 21:7)
This covenant
with Abraham, Isaac,
and Jacob (Israel) is for the land plot of the
fertile crescent or Canaan land. It
is a seed covenant, and
they are to multiply and possess the land forever (Gen. 13:15-16). In his journeying Abraham notes that as time
passes he has no seed. In talking to
God about this problem
God gives him a vision and
reiterates the promise (Gen. 15:1-3,18). God, the eternal
mathematician, will multiply the seed and His angel will oversee the
process (Gen. 16:10). God
repeatedly verbalizes the
seed-covenant promise to Abraham (Gen. 17:7-10) and to his son Isaac
(Gen. 17:19). As the
stars cover the
heavens, and as
the grains of sand
cover a beach God will multiply the seeds of Abraham and Isaac
and bless them
into a multitude of nations (Gen. 22:1718; 26:4-5).
By way of Abraham and
Isaac this same seed-covenant is passed on
to Jacob (Gen.
28;13-ff). Jacob confessed that
the God of
his fathers met
him and blessed
him in the way (Gen. 35:9-12) and told him personally that Canaan land was
his forever (Gen. 48:4). In turn
the seed covenant is passed to Ephraim (Gen. 48:19)
King David receives the
throne of Israel and becomes ruler of the seed-covenant promise, a promise to
establish his seed- saints in the land for many generations as the days of
heaven or as long as the sun (Psa. 89:
4, 29, 36). In the possession of
Canaan land the seed of Abraham are God's chosen children
(Psa. 105:6) and were blessed as long as they feared Him (Psa. 112:2). As
long as they
maintain their end
of the promise (obedience), and loved God (Psa. 69:36) they were God's
friends (Isa. 41:8). But as generations
failed to follow God and turned to
sorcery, adultery, and
whoremongering they became children of
transgression and thus
a seed of falsehood (Isa.
57:3-4) or offspring of the father of lies (John 8:44).
After the captivity,
punishment for their transgressions, in
the return to
rebuild, one requirement
was a declaration of
genealogy. Those who
could not prove
their blood-line
inheritance to the
seed-covenant were expelled
from the congregation (Ezra
2:59). It is still God's desire to bring back a
generation of pure
Israelites to serve
Him in righteousness (Psa. 22: 30-31) and bring back the inheritance to
the seed of Jacob (Isa. 65:9).
Under the New Testament
Seed-Covenant how does this apply to the believer under grace? We come to the same conclusions under
genealogy covenant of circumcision as
already discussed. In transition Peter
and John still attend temple worship and go to the temple
for the hour of prayer (Acts 3). At the
door step is a lame beggar man whom Peter promptly heals. In the ensuing revelry that follows Peter
makes a speech. Among the things
he tells those
at the Jewish Temple (about
A.D. 65) is that
they must be
converted, have their sins
blotted out before the "times of refreshing come", and Jesus
appears (vs.9- 20) for the "times of restitution" (vs.21). Peter quotes Moses about the
prophet to come
and fill his office (vs.22), and then of the prophets and their
prophesies (vs.24). Peter calls his
listeners the "children of the prophets" and heirs to the seed covenant
of God made to Abraham (vs.25) and then points them to Jesus (vs.26).
The Hebrew
Apostle Paul also
alludes to the prophets in his introduction of his letter to the church
at Rome and turns immediately to Jesus
and His descent
from King David
(Rom. 1:1-3). Paul declares his
office in the spreading of the gospel and
carries it from
Jews to Greeks
to Romans (vs.16).
In Chapter Nine Paul makes mention of
his "kinsmen according to the flesh" (vs.3) and their
right to the "adoption,
"glory", "covenants",
"law",
"service", and the
"promises" (vs.4). He
makes the connection to the Jewish fathers and the lineage of Christ
(vs.5). Paul then
gets theological and says
that not all Israelites
are Israelites and
not all seeds
of Abraham are true
seed--just Isaac (vs.6-7).
His conclusion is
that there were two
types of seeds:
flesh and promise
(vs.8). Sarah's son is
by promise; Hagar's and
Katurah's are in the flesh
(vs.9). Isaac and
Rebecca follow family
conception, but she has twins.
God, who is in charge, sees a problem and elects Jacob--before birth!(9-13). It is the
basis of God's compassion and mercy (vs. 15-16). Paul acknowledges the same attitude of
God toward Pharoah
(vs. 17). Paul then promptly
turns back to the gospel of Christ and applies the same mercy to the
Gentiles (vs. 23-26). So
the application is that as a
non-Jew you get in on the
blessing of the seed-covenant by God's Son Jesus Christ. For further confirmation read Hebrews,
Chapter Eleven.
If you take the word conceived, as already used, and follow
its trail through God's Word
you will find yourself on
the same road we have already traveled in the study of genealogy,
circumcision, and the
seed-covenant. Two points
of note are Job's
lamentation over the day
of his conception (Job 3:1-3;
10:18), and the fact that we were all conceived in sin (Psa. 51:5). If you have not realized it already it is
God who is in charge of
the WOMB to multiply its fruit
(Deut. 7:11-14); to close it
down (I Sam. 1:5;
Gen. 25:20-21; Gen
20:17-18); or open the
matrix (Gen. 29:31;
30:22-23; Ex. 13:12;
Num. 19:15). He knows His
creatures and watches the fetal
development (Eccl. 11:5).
We can therefore put our
trust in Him for our pre-born children (Psa. 22:9-10;
71:6).
As part
of the Gentile family we
are included in
the creative family
(Eph.3). When we
remove the clouds of doubt from
our minds (2 Cor. 4:4) and accept the light shed by God (2 Cor. 4:6) the Son of
Man will convert us to His Image (Rev. 1:13)
and the Spirit of God
will come in and be our witness to the reality of Christ (I John
4:2-3). We then become "fellow
heirs" to the body and promises of God in Jesus
Christ (Eph. 3:5-8). It
is a process called "adoption" and
it is final and eternal
(Rom. 8:15-16; Heb. 6:1-6; John 5:24).
Conclusion: don't
lie about your
physical or spiritual lineage, and don't lie
about the promises
of free-grace in Christ Jesus. To do so is an abomination!

HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD
"Whoso sheddeth men's blood,
by men shall his blood be shed"
There are
some one-hundred fifty
passages of Scripture that deal with Capital
Punishment. The prominent
areas of behavior that come under
God's curse for execution are idolatry, attitude toward parents, murder,
and adultery. The
most references apply to sexual conduct under the seventh commandment:
"Thou shalt not commit adultery" (Ex.
20:14). The terms used to
indicate capital punishment are "CUT OFF" and "PUT TO
DEATH". You can be cut off for seeing your sister naked (Lev. 20:17), or for sleeping
with a woman during her
period (Lev. 20:18). It is a requirement of God's holy
law that you be put to death for bestiality (Ex. 22:19). Both the person and the beast are
exterminated (Lev. 20:15-16).
In nearly
every case of
adultery/fornication death is required
for both parties
involved (Lev. 20:10) .
It is required for sleeping with
your father's wife (Lev.
20:11). If a
man marries a woman and finds out she wasn't a virgin he may divorce her
and send her home. If her parents
cannot prove her virginity then,
because she was
a whore in her father's house,
he must stone her to death (Deut. 22:21).
Should a man force an engaged woman
(rape) in an open field, only
the man shall be executed because there was no one to rescue the girl (Deut.
22:25-26). A woman who is a bondmaid cannot be executed for adultery because she
isn't free (Lev. 19:20).
In the
matter of Balaam,
Balak, and Bailpeor
all the brethren who
joined in with
the whoremongering were
to be slain (Num.25:5).
Paul to the
church at Corinth reminds us that as a
result of this
idolatrous fornication twenty-four
thousand were executed (I Cor. 10:8).
Paul also exhorts the church to remove from the body such fornicators (I Cor. 5:2) explaining that they will not inherit God's
kingdom (I Cor. 6:10). In
his letter to the church at Rome (Rom. 1:24-31) Paul lists a variety of sins
including fornication (vs.29) explained as homosexuality (vs. 26-27) concluding
that all such conduct incurs the penalty of
death.
The reason for this
blood letting requirement is the added curse placed upon man after the
flood. God says that the life of the flesh
is in the blood and it
will be required by God at the hand of
man and beast, and it will be required to make an atonement for sin
(Gen. 9:4-6; Lev. 17:11). Blood is
therefore not to be drank
or eaten (Lev.
7:,26 27). Those who choose
to do so incur God's
wrath and are to be "CUT OFF" (Lev. 17:10, 14). Your
blood is required
by God if you curse your
parents (Lev. 20:9); if you
commit an act of
sodomy (man to man: Lev.
20:13). For these
you are to
be "PUT TO
DEATH". An exception to
this rule is
when someone catches
a thief breaking in, and in the
process of stopping the thief the thief is
killed, it is
not required of God
that blood be
shed for him (Ex. 22:2).
Such execution
requirement is, as
stated, part of
God's curse on man and his sin.
In Deuteronomy, Chapter Twenty-Seven, Verses 15 - 26 there are twelve
curses. In Chapter Twenty-Eight, Verses
15 - 20 there are six curses. All these
and other curses are laid upon those who give themselves to idolatry,
drunkenness, and fail to separate
themselves as in the case of Lot in the midst of
Sodom and Gomorrah (Deut.
29:17-23). The reason for these
curses is to preserve the children of future generations. One cursed
means of execution
is by hanging (Deut. 21:23). God
took this curse
upon Himself when
Jesus was hung
on the cross to die (Gal. 3:13).
Capital Punishment is required of God for
certain family matters: i.e.: if you curse or smite your parents (Ex.
21:15,17), and if you are a rebellious
disobedient drunk of a son (Deut. 21:21).
Family members will
not be executed for each
others sins but only
for their own
(Deut. 24:16). Additionally you are to be executed for kidnaping (Ex. 21:16).
The death penalty began in
the garden with the first order of
business when God
said "if you
eat the tree
of knowledge of good
and evil you
will die" (Gen.
2:17). That is exactly what happened
and the Bible says Adam died (Gen. 5:5). A few generations
later as man
"progressed" God avenged
Himself of man and "all
flesh" died (Gen. 7:21). The book
of Genesis ends in a "coffin" in "Egypt" (Gen. 50:26). In Bible numerics the following is note-worthy:
50 -
5 x 10 or 2
x 5 x 5
5 - death
10 - Gentiles
2 - witness
26 -
2 x 13
13 - bad, evil,
or curse
God says
to Israel that
they will "utterly perish" for all
their sins (Deut. 4:25-ff). Aaron died
for his sin in the wilderness and did not enter the promised land (Num. 20:22-28); and Saul
died for his
transgressions and rebellion
(I Chron. 10:13). God's command
to Israel in defeating the enemy
is to KILL every man,
woman, and child
(Num. 31:17). Absalom kills
his brother Ammon for raping
his sister
(II Sam. 13:28); and
capital punishment is
not required for accidental killing--you
may run to safety (Num. 35:15)! You
can, however, be "CUT OFF" for
uncleanness or for
touching the unclean
(Lev. 7:20-21) . You may
also be cut off
for the list
of trespasses given
in Leviticus, Chapter Eighteen.
These are some
of the things written "Afforetime
" to give us hope (Rom. 15:4).
Among the methods of
execution is fire. You can be "burnt
with fire" if
you take a
mother and daughter--together (Lev. 20:14). If a
priest's daughter plays
the whore she
is to be burnt (Lev. 21:9); and if you give your sons and
daughters to the heathen you will be burnt with fire (Deut. 12:31). Instead of
maintaining total separation,
Achan took a
cursed thing, and he and all his
family were stoned to death then burnt with fire (Josh. 7:15).
Nadab and
Abihu offered strange fire before the Lord and in God's
judgment--died (Lev. 10:1-2;
Num. 3:4; 26:61).
In the children's rebellion God punished them with fiery
serpents and "much people
died" (Num. 21:6).
Datham, Abiram, Korah, and 250 others were ceremoniously
executed by God for speaking against
Moses, and fell directly into the pit of
hell (Deut. 11:6; Num. 16:23).
They suffered the
fire of a jealous God (Deut. 4:24), the same God who
put the eternal fire of vengeance on Sodom
and Gomorrah for fornication
(Jude 7). You
too can face the fire and
brimstone of the second death (Rev. 21:8).
The God
of Israel promises
to consume them for idolatry (Ex. 32:10),
and orders them
to be "CUT OFF" if they eat the fat of their sacrifices
(Lev. 7:25) . Those who
sacrifice their children to Molech
are "CUT OFF"
and "PUT TO
DEATH". If you do not do so --
then you will be "CUT OFF" for allowing such child abuse
(Lev. 20:2-5). Other
areas of idolatry for which you can be "PUT TO DEATH" are:
having a familiar
spirit (Lev. 20:27--by stoning)
being a wizard (Lev.
20:27--by stoning)
false prophet (Deut.
13:5)
Dreamer of dreams
(Deut. 13:5)
any one who entices
you away from God (Deut.13:6-11)
Idolatry and astrology
(Deut. 17:1-5--by stoning)
being a child of
Belial (Deut. 13:15)
Sacrifice to other gods requires utter destruction (Ex. 22:20).
Noting some of the examples
already given utter
destruction would include immediate
family, household goods,
crops, and livestock.
Paul, the
Apostle to the
Gentile Church, reminds us that
those who tempt Christ, and those
who murmur and complain are subject to destruction by the serpent
destroyer (I Cor. 10:9-10), and Saint
Jude reminds us
that the unbelieving
children were destroyed for their unbelief (Jude 5). When David
took Bathsheba and
she had a
child, God said
the child would
die for the occasion of
blasphemy that David had allowed the enemy by his adultery
and murder (II Sam. 12:14). When Moses
came down from
the mountain and
found Israel in sensual idolatry he commanded those
involved to be slain--about 3,000 (Ex.
32:27-28).
God takes seriously
His justice and judgment. If you fail
to observe the day of atonement you will be "CUT OFF"
(Lev. 23:28-29). If you
despise His Word it is
presumption and you will be "CUT OFF" (Num. 15:30-31). If you presumptuously refuse to follow a judge's order you will die (Deut. 17:12);
and the false prophet who
presumes to speak for God shall die (Deut. 18:20).
The command
of God is "Thou shalt not kill" (Ex. 20:13), and Paul
reiterates the same
to the church (Rom. 13:9). The holy command of God for murder is to be
"PUT TO DEATH", primarily: by stoning; but sometimes by
hanging (Deut. 21:22) or
burning, or any combination thereof. The weapon of choice for your
murder may be wood, stone, or
iron, it matters
not, when struck
in enmity requires your
execution (Num. 35:16-21).
There is no other
avenue of satisfaction for murder but
the shedding of the blood of the murderer (Num. 35:31;
Ex. 21:12).
Some exceptions to
the death penalty are:
the person assaulted doesn't
die--pay loss and medical
(Ex. 21:18-19 )
master
assaults servant--dies not--no punishment
(
Ex. 21: 20-21 )
causes death
without lying in wait or hate--
no murderer (Num.
35:22-23)
not execute
children of murderer (II Kings 14:6)
One means
that God used to inflict death was the plague. For
murmuring God slew 14,700 (Num. 16:4-9);
in another plague 24,000
died (Num. 25:9);
and for David's
disobedience 70,000 people were
executed (II Sam.
24:15). Phinehas, God's
high priest, was able
to halt the
plague by slaying
an adulterous couple (Num.
25:7-8). God reminds us in one incident that it was the
women who led the men astray and brought the curse (Num. 31:15-16 ) .
"Vengeance is mine, I will repay,"
saith the Lord.
How could
a vengeful God not expect man to
take revenge? God insisted that
Israel fulfill His revenge
on Midian (Num. 31:2) and
on Balaam (Josh. 13:22; Num. 31:8), and God
allows for revenge for murder
(Num. 35:19). But
God, knowing the evil of man's heart, also provided
safety for the innocent (Ex. 21:13) in the establishment of "cities of
refuge" (Deut. 19:1; Num. 35:11). For more details read Deuteronomy, Chapter
Four. In the city of refuge a judge was provided to hear the witnesses and to
judge the case
of "MANSLAYER" verses
"REVENGER", and
the word of the judge prevailed (Num. 35:12, 24). Under
the New Testament covenant
of grace the
Gentile Apostle Paul identifies the responsibility for
vengeance belongs to
the government (Rom. 13:4) as does Peter the Jewish Apostle (I Pet.
2:14).
In the
judgment for capital
punishment there must
be at the least two valid witnesses before
a decree of
death could be indited
(Num. 35:30). In
the performance of the execution
the witnesses threw the first stones, then all the congregation joined in
participation (Deut. 13:9;
17:7). In the
case of a false witness,
when the prujury is found out,
then whatever the witness/revenger wanted done to the accused was to be done to
the false witness (Deut. 13:9).
The wisdom
and knowledge of
God tells us
that there is a time
to die and a time
to kill (Eccl.
3: 2-3 ) . God began His revenge
in death at the garden of Eden;
he climaxed the point in the flood of
Noah; and He put an exclamation point at the end of
that sentence by setting man and beast at odds with each other--they became
carnivorous (Gen. 9:2).
God's law to
the law-giver was an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth (Ex.
21:24-25; Deut. 19:21 ).
Life for life
also applied to
pregnant women and their fetus as well (Ex. 21:22-23). God's reasoning for capital punishment in
society was to "PUT AWAY EVIL" (Deut. 17:7). To put away the evil of theft and kidnaping
(Deut. 24:7); the evil of adultery
(Deut. 22:22-24); and
the evil of being a
child of Belial
(Judg. 20:13). The
reason for capital punishment of murderers is to remove
them from God's alter (Ex. 21:14) for being presumptuous. Capital punishment is to instill FEAR in
the congregation and
avoid presumption (Deut. 17:13; 13:11 ) .
Under the New Covenant
of Grace Paul, addressing the church at Rome, says if you are lawless then that is how you will die (Rom. 2:12).
Peter declares that
it is time for judgment to begin with the church (I Pet. 4:17). For the sins of adultery Paul says
we are to deliver the perpetrators to Satan for the execution of
death (I Cor.
5:5). Ultimately we
come to the eternal
j jurge who alone
has the control
of life and
death ( Jam. 4:12). In
His concern for
man's total sin-nature
and the required revenge
of death took
it upon himself
and died for us (Rom. 5:8).

Yea, seven are an abomination unto him:”
#4
AN HEART THAT DEVISETH WICKED IMAGINATIONS,
“My
brethren,
have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Lord of glory,
with respect of persons.”
The word “RACE”
is used in the King’s English Authorized translation of the Holy
Scriptures only four times. All four
times the reference is to running a race like an athlete and has nothing to do
with gender, nationality, ethnicity, or national origin. Therefore, this will not be a discussion
about race. The only race God considers
is the one you are to be running for the cause of Jesus Christ. What we will be discussing is the
generations of nations encircling the globe since the day God created Adam and
gave him a wife to generate the human species.
The search begins
with Deuteronomy 32: 4 - 9. Compared to
the Holiness of God (4) the nations have “corrupted themselves” and become
crooked and perverse (5). In the
establishment of the nation of Israel (6) it took many generations (7), and it
required God to make a division in the nations of the sons of Adam and set up
boundaries (8). I wonder how many times
we have crossed those lines that God established way back then?
The word divide
(in its various forms) is used in the Authorized text over 150 times;
and the word separate (in its various forms) is used about 98 times. This is not to say that all the uses are
relative to nationality, but many of them are.
So, you should pay attention to God’s division.
From the beginning
with Adam and Eve all of man was one blood (Acts 17:26) and was following the
plan of God. This continued up to
Genesis, Chapter Six. Man, following
God’s command to multiply, began having good-looking daughters (Gen. 6:1). The followers of Lucifer, the fallen angel
of light, are hanging around, manifest themselves in the flesh, and take a look
at these daughters of men (6:2). These
sons of God and Satan have access to a realm that you and I mostly dream about
(Job 1:6). Satan is able to make direct
communications with the creator of the universe (Job 1:12), and discuss the
cases of man on the earth (Job 2:1, 7).
Remember that this angel of light, with his fallen host, was there in
the beginning and sang this present evil world into existence (Job 38:7). Remember from Genesis 1:2 that this leader
of the Luciferian uprising fell down to earth creating darkness and set the
world spinning out of course (Psa. 82:5-8).
Although he was a prince Lucifer fell like a man and will face eternal
death with the damned of those judged in the judgment of nations.
The off-spring of
these extraterrestrial sexual exploits were mutant giants (Gen. 6:4). The world of the Old Testament is pervasive
with the continual recurrence of the procreation of these mutants. Genesis, Chapter Six is dated at about 2439

If you will take note these references cover a period of over 800
years. The gigantic sons of God are
associated with the Valley of Gahenna where children were slaughtered in
sacrifice to Tophet. Jesus used this
place as a reference to hell fire. It
is a most profound example of what can happen if you step across God’s
pre-determined boundaries.
God saw this
wickedness (Gen. 6:5) and found only one man righteous enough to have a place
in preserving the progenitry of man (Gen. 6:9). Noah, and his three sons (Gen. 6:10) would be the only surviving
family of the total population of man after more than 1600 years of the history
of man’s living. The decay of society
had fallen to the place of these extraterrestrial sexual interbreedings. It was against God’s way (Gen. 6:12) so God
made a new covenant with Noah and his family (Gen. 6:18). God also preserved the species of animals He
had created (Gen. 6:19). In process of
time after the flood the earth is re-populated into the three major families of
Ham, Shem, and Japheth.
Out of the family
of Ham arises a leader by the name of Nimrod.
Nimrod leads the people of the divided families back together to the
plain of Shinar and the building of the Tower of Babel (Gen. 11:1-ff). In process of time Nimrod, his wife, and his
son (Asshur) become the deified family of pagan religions around the world -- a
satanic trinity if you will! God is
displeased with this united building project and sends them confusion of
language. Once again God divides the
people by families and nations, in their own boundaries.
Out of Shem God
calls Abraham to be a separated nation among all the other nations of His
earth. Lot, nephew to Abraham, goes
along with Abraham in his journey.
Eventually they both become successful.
Abraham lets Lot choose where he will live, and Abraham will live
elsewhere. Lot chooses Sodom and
Gomorrah (Gen. 18:20-19:38). When the
angels of God come to the city of sodomy Lot takes them in to his house. When the sodomites of the city want these
men for personal pleasure Lot offers his two virgin daughters. The sodomites turn on Lot. The angels strike the sodomites with
blindness and hurry Lot and his two daughters out of town. Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed by
fire. In the end Lot commits incest
with his daughters creating the nations of Moab and Ammon (Gen. 19:38).
Sodom now becomes
a by-word for the depravity of the world and God’s attitude toward such
behavior. A vivid description is given
in Deuteronomy 32:28-33
28: For they are a nation void of counsel, neither
is there any understanding in them. 29: O that they were wise, that they
understood this, that they would consider their latter end! 30: How should one
chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had
sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? 31: For their rock is not as our
Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. 32: For their vine is of the vine
of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are
grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: 33:
Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.
Peter also makes
reference to Sodom and Gomorrah in his second epistle:
6: And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorra
into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those
that after should live ungodly; 7: And delivered just Lot, vexed
with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8: (For that
righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous
soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 9: The Lord
knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust
unto the day of judgment to be punished: 10: But chiefly them that walk after
the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government.
Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of
dignities.
In progress of
time Abraham has Isaac and Isaac has Jacob and Esau. Isaac does not want his son Jacob to intermarry with the sons of
Heth so he sends his son back to his family in Chaldia (Gen. 19:38;
24:1-4). Esau, the other son,
intermarries with the local pagans and creates a problem for his family (Gen.
26:34-35). Isaac returns to Chaldia to
his father’s brother Laban and marries Rebecca (Gen. 28:2). Jacob has twelve sons and a daughter Dinah
(Gen. 34:1-ff). Back in the pagan land
of Canaan Dinah visits one of the cities.
There the son of the king falls for Dinah and takes her to bed and
invites her to live with him. When her
brothers find out they take revenge on this city for their misdeed of sexual
behavior.
Eventually Judah
does take a wife of the Canaanites (Gen. 38:2-ff). They have Er and Onan. Er
is the wife of Tamar. When Er dies Onan
takes Tamar, but dies for disobedience.
Tamar is to wait for the next son of Judah (Gen. 38:11). When this does not happen, and Tamar hears
Judah is coming to town, she dresses in the style of a harlot. Judah comes along and falls into the trap
of adultery. Tamar is now pregnant with seed from her father-in-law (Gen.
38:25: half-breed, incest child). In
birth twins are born: Pharez and Zarah (38:2-30).
As history goes on
by the nation of Israel ends in Egypt.
The Egyptians have their own set of segregation rules and will not eat
with the Israelites (Gen. 43:32). While
in Egypt Moses is born and adopted by the Pharoah’s daughter (Ex. 2:5). Moses, when he becomes an adult, refuses to
be an Egyptian and returns to the aid of his own people (Heb. 11:24-27; Ex.
2:11-15). Moses goes to Midian and
marries the daughter of Jethro Reuel (Ex. 2:21; 3:1). Moses then returns to Egypt to lead Israel out of Egyptian
servitude and to conquer the land of Canaan and drive out the pagans
(Ex.3:8). It is God’s election in
taking Israel out of Egypt to make them a separated nation for His glory (Ex.
6:6-7). Before Israel is let go God
will have to execute judgment against the Egyptians. When He does He makes a distinction between that which is
Israel’s and that which is Egyptian (Ex. 8:21-21; 9:26; ll:5-7). But when Israel does leave there is a mixed
multitude that goes with them out of Egypt (Ex. 12:38). This mixed multitude that went with Israel
had a lot to do with their troubles and downfall in the wilderness (Num. 11:4).
During their stay
in Egypt Israel had forgotten to carry on the traditions of the fathers and
they were uncircumcised as they escaped their slave-masters. Part of God’s ritual for Israel (beginning
with Abraham) was that they be circumcised (Num. Ex:12:48). Later when Joshua entered the promised land
he had to circumcise them again for they had let it slide in the wilderness
(Jos. 5:2). Joshua is to now do that which God had commanded Moses: i.e.,
destroy the inhabitants of Canaan land.
He is to do so that the children will not get involved in their pagan
religion, especially by intermarriage
(Ex. 34:11-16). Israel failed to
complete this task and over time intermarriage took place and led to idolatry
(Judges 10:6).
In the law given
to Moses, that Israel was to follow, specific instruction were given about not
letting even their cattle of different kind interbreed, as well as not to mix
linen and wool (Lev. 19:18-19). These
rules of separation were to be a part of what made Israel different and holy
(Lev. 20:24-27). As part of this
separation God gives to Israel a title deed land grant to that parsal of ground
we call Palistine or Canaan Land
(Num. 34:12-17). The land is to
be divided by family in accordance with God’s table of division (Num.
34:16-29). This land grant is
reiterated several times (Deut. 3:12-17; 11:22-25; Josh. 1:3-4). It is a land for which God has special care
(Deut. 8:7-9; 11;11-12).
When the land is
divided (Josh. 19:49), after God had given them all of it (Josh. 21:43-45), Joshua is to insure that all the nations
of Canaan are destroyed that Israel will not intermarry with them causing them
to fall away from the holiness of God (Deut. 7:1-10; 12:1-3; 20:16-18; ). God has such disdain for improper sexual
conduct that He declared that any bastard could not enter the congregation of
Israel for ten generations (Deut. 23:2).
The Ammonites and Moabites could never enter the congregation of Israel
for their part in causing Israel to fall at Ball-Peor (Deut. 23:3). The Edomites could enter the congregation
after three generations because they were brothers (Deut. 23:7-8), but Amalek
was to be destroyed (Deut. 25:17-19).
This separation was to make the children of Israel a holy, peculiar
nation (Deut. 26:16-19).
When Joshua sent
the spies to check out Jericho they came to Rahab the Harlot’s house
(Josh.2:1). Rahab accepts them in faith
and helps them out. In return, when
Israel comes to Jericho, Rahab and all in her house are spared in the command
to destroy all (Josh. 6:21-25). When
Joshua is old and about to die he calls all the leadership of Israel together
and reminds them of the command to drive all inhabitants out of the land of
Canaan and not to intermarry with them.
This command is given because these other nations will lead them astray
into adultery and idolatry (Josh. 23:11-13).
The succeeding generations fail to keep the law of God and begin to
intermarry with the pagan nations, and begin to worship their false gods (Josh.
3:5-7). Israel gets into trouble for
her ecumenical non-denominational sins and cries to God. God sends Sampson (Jud. 13:24-25).
Samson is not as successful in his role as he might have been had he
followed the letter of the law. He
follows the crowd by his own intermarriages to a Philistine (Judg.14:2;
16:4). This second marriage with
Delilah gets him in trouble and he finds himself without God’s strength in
prison (Judg. 16:21).
Naomi, her
husband, and two sons leave the promised land in a time of famine and go to
live with the nation of Moab (Lot’s half-breeds). Her sons marry local girls and then all three men end up
dead. Naomi decides to return to
Canaan, and Ruth chooses to go with her (Ruth1:22). In that choice Ruth disclaims her own genealogy and claims all
that is Naomi’s family, friends, country, and God (Ruth 1:16). As a result of Ruth’s faith and love God
gives her Boaz for a husband. Together
they are the Great Grandparents of David (Ruth 4:21-22). When you get ready to choose a life-mate you
would be wise to insure that your choice is sound in the same faith and love
that you are. Profession of faith and
practice are not the same thing.
Solomon, David’s
son, had many marriages. Among them was
a political marriage with the daughter of Pharoah (I Kings 3:1). Others included the nations of Moab, Ammon,
Edom (Esau), Zidon, and the Hittites.
These are among the nations God had said to destroy and/or have nothing
to do with. Solomon married into all of
them (700 wives, 300 concubines). They
turned his heart away from God to worship their own gods (I Kings
11:1-33). After Solomon his son
Jeroboam became king. His mother was an
Ammonite. They perpetuated Solomon’s
sin and the land was opened to Sodomites
(I Kings 14:24). As a reward for
their sexual and spiritual misconduct the King of Egypt came and stole the gold
out of the treasury of both God’s temple and the King’s house (I Kings 14:26). Later Asa becomes king of Judah.
Evidently his mother taught him right for he begins to make things
right. Immediately he expels the
sodomites from the land (I Kings
15:12).
The following
generations of the nation of Israel come and go in their faith and allegiance
to God. During this time God called
Elisha to be His prophet, and He called for a Shunemmite woman to tend his
needs (II Kings 4:8). It was during
this time that God had a Israelite slave send Nathan the Syrian to the prophet
to be healed (I Kings 5:1-ff). In the
mean while the kingship of Israel and Judah continues a roller-coaster ride of
good kings and bad. One such bad king
of Judah is Ahaz. He sinks so low in
pagan idolatry that he makes his own son a sacrifice by fire (II Kings 16:3). Israel continued to sin against the Lord
their God doing their abominations in secret and serving other gods. They failed to listen to God’s spokesmen and
became more interested in the cultic practices of the pagan nations around
them. They continued to sacifice their
children (II Kings 17). Finally King Josiah attempts to repent and
regenerate proper relations with God.
He cleans the house of God and expels the sodomites whose houses were
next to the temple. He destroys and
ends the worship of Ashtoreth of the Zidonians, Chemosh of Moab, and Milcom of
Ammon (II Kings 21).
The years have
come and gone, the kings have risen and fallen to the ground, and we are in the
year 623 B.C. with the prophet Jeremiah.
Jeremiah is called to reestablish the covenant between God and Israel
(Jer. 11:2). It is once again a choice
between serving God and abiding by His covenant or continuing the conspiracy to
commit lewdness. Israel and Judah
continue to choose the lewdness (Jer. 11).
God’s conclusion for their
rebellion is captivity to Assyria and Babylon.
King Zedekiah attempts rebellion but is overthrown by Nebuchadnezzer
because there is no other remedy (Jer. 36).
After a period of captivity the Lord puts it in the mind of Cyrus the
King to rebuild the temple at Jerusalem (II Chron. 36:23).
Now it is time to
begin rebuilding with Ezra and Nehemiah.
King Cyrus gets his orders from the Almighty and offers opportunity to
the people to join in the affair
(Ezra 1:1-ff). The rebuilding
process begins. It has its ups and
downs, and it has its enemies. Part of
the enemy is themselves. The remnant
that had not been taken captive had intermarried with the other nations Babylon
had brought in to the land of Canaan, and had adopted some of their adulterous
religious practices -- they had not yet made the separations of
purity that God demanded (Ezra 6:21).
Even the priestly cast and the Levites had partaken of this wicked
integration with the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites,
Moabites, Egyptians, and Amorites. They
all had allowed their sons and daughters to intermarry and mingle the seed of
the people (Ezra 9:1-ff). Things had
been going on so long that they had forgotten how to blush. The land had become totally unclean by this
adulterous affinity with the enemies of God.
Ezra calls for a rite of purification.
This rite required the divorce of the intermarriages and the expulsion
of children. The wrath of God could
only be sedated with this purification rite (Ezra 10).
A couple of these
integrated enemies of the Lord were Sanballat and Tobiah. Such temple building and survival of the
people (not directed by them) was unthinkable.
They tried every way they could to overthrow this work of God (Nehemiah
2:10, 19). Sanballat and Tobiah
attempted several conspiracies with the Ammonites, the Ashdodites and Geshem
the Arabian: “peace talks”, false letters to the king, warfare, internal
plottings. God overturned them all
(Neh. 4:1-7; 6:1-7).
Nehemiah helped
with Ezra’s purification rite by taking a close look at genealogy records. Many claiming Israelly citizenship, some
even the priesthood, could not prove their claim in these records (Neh. 7:5,
61-64). Because of this lack of proof
these people were put out of the lineage as if they were part of the pollution
problem. Nehemiah reiterated the call
of Ezra for purity of both the body of citizens, but especially the priesthood
(Neh. 9:1-4; 10:28-30). Again, this
included their wives and children. The
old letter of the law that said Ammon and Moab could not be part of Israel was
also reiterated (Neh. 13:1). Therefore,
Nehemiah cast out Tobiah, all his friends, and all those who had
intermarried. In some cases Nehemiah
gave personal punishment for their role in this intermarriage associations
(Neh. 13:25). God’s attitude over some
families and their behavior is well expressed in Psalm 60:6-8. Moab is referred to as a washpot and Edom as
a dump.

FEET SWIFT TO MISCHIEF
Exodus 21:22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so
that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be
surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall
pay as the judges determine.
Here is a man
striving with a pregnant woman. In the
wake of the hostilities the unborn child is lost, but the woman suffers little
or no harm (mischief [Heb.!Asa' 'acown {aws-sone'}, i.e., evil, harm] ). The man is fined by the judges as
dictated by the husband. But, if the
woman suffers harm the judgment will be “an eye for an eye” (Ex. 21:24).
Exodus 21:23 And if any mischief follow, then thou
shalt give life for life,
The
God-fearing man is to pray that his life not be spent in the company of such
“bloody men” (Psa. 26:9). These men
will do any despicable crime of mischief and are ready to bribe their way
around judgment (Psa. 26:10). These potent transgressors have no fear of God
(Psa. 36:1). He is a well of flattery,
iniquity, and deceit (Psa.36:2-3). He
plans his mischief while he is lying in bed (Psa. 36:4). His mischief (Heb.!w<a' 'aven
{aw-ven'} ) is vain unrighteousness,
wickedness, and sorrow.
These
abominable people will loose their sleep if they have not caused some one to
stumble and fall (Pro. 4:16). They
meditate on their mischief in the night watches (Psa. 63:6) planning the
mis-use of their power when they rise up in the morning (Micah 2:1).
Our
opening verse dealt with a pregnant woman.
She would have gotten that way by normal husband/wife relations. There is nothing more mischievous then the
perversion of “God’s way on the earth” (Gen. 6:12)
“At Corinth sexual immorality was
a way of life. Corinth was a city of
pagan idolatry that included sexual perversity as part of its rituals. Religous halls were filled with male and
female religous prostitutes.”
A
sure sign that you have perverted “God’s way” is the digressive state of
undress. God will first remove the
vail or hair covering (Isa. 47:2; 1 Cor. 11:13). Then He will uncover the feet, ankles, and legs (Isa. 47:2), and
then up the thigh and expose the underwear (Isa. 47:2-3).
This
same prospect is resounded by Jeremiah the prophet. Israel is told that the greatness of their iniquity will lead to
the nakedness of their heels and that which the skirt covers (13:22). This came to pass because they forgot God
and turned to falsehood (Jer.13:23).
Their mischievous behavior led to their skirts being removed and their
nakedness prostituted before everyone (Jer. 13:26).
They had perverted God’s way in adultery, whoredom, and neighing like a
stud horse in heat (Jer. 13:27). This
type of mischief is listed among those who will not be in the New Heaven and
New Earth:
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and
unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and
sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake
which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Corinth
being a seed-bed of such mischief Paul has to address their conduct and tells
the church that they are carnal babes and immature in thier spirituaI
relationship to Christ (1 Cor. 3:1): i.e., they are carnivorously carnal. As new born babes Paul has to give them milk
instead of the meat of God’s truth (1
Cor. 3:2). The carnality of Corinth is
manifest in their divisiveness (1 Cor. 3:3) --child’s play! The carnal infancy
of Corinth is manifest in their “lust of the flesh”, “lust of the eyes”, and thier
“pride of life” (1 John 2:15-16). Such
mischief will fade away when they pass of the scene (1 Jn.2:17).
When
men begin to corrupt God’s way on the earth God will hand them over to their
own lusts (Rom. 1:24). God will abandon
them to dishonor, especially when they turn from Him as Creator and worship
what He created (Rom.1:25). In the
decline of such mischievous conduct God turns women into lesbians (Rom. 1:26),
and turns men into homosexuals (Rom. 1:27).
And if that weren’t enough God gives them venereal decease complicated
by AIDS (Rom. 1:27).
After
while the digression changes the person into a vegetative spiritual state of a
reprobate (Rom. 1:28). They then become
total anti-social rejects and fall into all the anti-social behavior of Romans
1:29-31. God further complicates their
abilities by expanding their perverted mischief beyond their own enjoyment to
that of their fellow (Rom. 1:32).
These
are the reasons God, in His law, gave Israel explicit regulations on sexual
conduct. Fathers were not to prostitute
their daughters or cause their sons to be sodomites (Deut. 23 :17). Homosexuality of man with man is one to
these abominations (Lev. 18:22), and such perversion of God’s way incurs the
death penalty (Lev.20:13). God has His
weapons of death targeted at these perverters (Psa. 7:13) because they have
labor pains to purvey their mischief (Psa. 7:14) . They are so blindly perverted that they cannot see that their own
mischief return on their own head in AIDS (Psa. 7:15-16). They do reap what they sow (Gal. 6:7).
These
various maladies of mischief come from the heart of man (Matt.15:18). The heart is the seed bed of wickedness
(Jer. 17:9). When the flood gates are
opened the demonic belches are murder, adultery, fornication, theft, prujury,
and totally anti-Christ (Matt. 15:19).
This cascade of abominations defile the man (Matt. 15:20) making him a
two-fold child of hell (Matt. 23:15).
The
mischievous abomination of divorce has the side effect of adultery
(Matt.5:31-32). The Pharisee will
attempt to alter God’s Words to accommodate his own heart (Matt. 19:3,8), but
Jesus’ opinion is that when God joins two people into one they are not to be
separated (Matt.19:4-5). Jesus said the
only plea for divorce that avoids adultery is the life-style of abominable
mischievous sexual misconduct called “fornication” (Matt. 19:9). God’s remedy justice on divorce is to turn
the mischief of the person upon their own hard heart (Psa. 28:14).
Fornication
was a common habit of the church at Corinth.
It was degraded to such a low level that men were sleeping with their
father’s wives (I Cor. 5:1). The Corinthian church was so carnal that
there was no remorse to have such members removed from the assembly (1
Cor.5:2). Paul’s admonition was to turn
these perverters over to the devil for the penalty of death (1 Cor.5:5).
A
man sleeping with his father’s wife is not new. Reuben did such against his father and received a curse
(Gen.49:3-4). Personal relations with
any near-kin is specifically addressed in God’s law (Lev. 18: 6-18: 20 : 11-21:
Deut 22:30: 27:20,22,23). Look also at
Jude 4 & 7.
By the
time Moses got to Sinai God had plenty of time to observe man and his
conduct. The corruption of God’s way
brought the flood of Noah (Gen.6) and continued even thereafter. God in His law covered even sexual
perversion with the beast of the field (Ex. 22:19: Lev. 18:23; 20:15-16; Deut.
27:21).
The
church is to part company with such extended perversion of God’s way (I Cor.5:9),
especially if the pervert is a professed church member (1 Cor.5:11). The list of degraded perversion is written
by Paul to the church at Galatia.
Encluded, but not limited too, is adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, reveling, and “such like”.
To the Galatians Paul says these will NOT enter the Kingdom of God
(Galatians 5:19-21).
To
the church of Ephesis Paul writes a simular list of “fornication...
uncleanness... filthiness... whoremonger”.
again Paul says these will not only NOT enter the Kingdom of God
but also the Kingdom of Christ (Eph 5:3 - 5).
When,
as a churchman, you attempt to build God’s kingdom there will be those who, as
Sanballet and Geshem, will try to do you mischief (Neh.6:2). They are members of their own congregation
of hypocrites consumed with the fires of deceit (Job 15:34). The off-spring they conceive and produce are
mischief, vanity, and deceit (Job 15:35).
Their mischief is (Heb. lm'[' `amal {aw-mawl'} ) trouble, sorrow, misery, and perversness.
As
members of Christ’s church body our physical body is not for perverse mischief
(1 Cor. 6:13), but for Jesus. It is
inordinate affection for me to join Christ’s body to that of a whore (1 Cor.
6:15). When you make a male/female
physical union you have fulfilled the Scripture that says “two shall be
one” (1 Cor.6:16; Gen.
2:24). The mischief abomination of
fornication is not only a sin against God but against yourself (1 Cor.
6:18). As a member of the body of
Christ your body is to be the sole temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19).
In
respect to the appearing of Christ for His body the church we are to kill in
our flesh these perversions: “fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection,
evil concupiscence, and covetousness which is idolatry” (Col.3:4-5). These things do incur God’s wrath (Col.
3:6).
Continuing
in address to Corinth Paul makes a strong case for the institute of marriage as
God’s way, and as a deterrent to mischief (1 Cor. 7:1-2). The institute of marriage takes care of
rape, incest, lust, masturbation, fornication, un-expected pregnancy, and
otherwise unholy living.
Jesus
confronts a woman at the well of Samaria about her marriage, divorce and
remarriage to five men, and her current living with a man to whom she is not
married (Jn. 4:15-18). Without
condemnation and wrath Jesus and the woman brought many of the city to worship
the Christ (Jn.4:28,29,42). Sin can be
the point of worship if presented in the light of truth. Jesus uses the truth of the law to pinpoint
the heart of the rich young ruler (Matt. 19:18). Paul to the Thessalonians declares our sanctification from
fornication (1 Thes. 4:3). This
mischievous perversion is the lust of concupiscence ( evpiqumi,a
epithumia
{ep-ee-thoo-mee'-ah} lust
,desire, craving, longing, for what is forbidden, >>> evpiqume,w
epithumeo {ep-ee-thoo-meh'-o} ,
covet, fain, to turn upon a thing,
to have a desire for, covet
.) We are to maintain the self-control
over our bodily functions (1 Thes. 4:4).
Husbands
and wives are not to be incontinent toward each other but to surrender their
body each one to the other (1 Cor.7:3-4).
To withhold physical relations is considered fraud and opens a door for
Satan to enter and bring temptation (1 Cor.7:5). The Pentateuch is full of the laws of God which are specifically
addressed on the two tablets of stone God gave Moses (Ex. 31:18;
34:28). These
we call the “Ten Commandments” (Deut. 4:13).
Commandment
number seven (Ex. 20:14; Deut. 5:18) is the one that says “Thou shalt not commit
adultery”. Note that this is an act
that has to be “committed” -- it is not by accident. Between Exodus, Chapter Twenty and Deuteronomy, Chapter
Thirty-Four there are 3700 verses. Of
these 139 are explicitly about sexual conduct.
The distinctions of marital sex verses non-marital sex is made clear and
plain in Hebrews 13:4:
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed
undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
What a man
and woman, who are married, do in love is OK with God, but those not married in
a heterosexual relationship, God will judge.
The rehtoric of this generation is “If it feels good, do it!”, or ‘as
long as no one gets hurt....”. Jesus said
to break the law and to teach others to do the same puts you in a very low light
(Matt 5 :
19). God’s laws were not given
for people who do what is right but for those who blatantly live in opposition
to the legal precepts such as “whoremongers”, and “them that defile themselves
with mankind” (1 Tim.1:9-10).
If
you sleep with an unmarried woman then God says you are to pay her father and
marry the woman (Ex. 22:16-17). You can
NEVER divorce this woman (Deut. 22:28-29).
If you sleep with a married woman both of you are to be executed (Deut.
22:23-24). If you rape a married woman,
away from witnesses, then only you are executed (Deut.22:25-27).
To lay
with your neighbor’s wife is part of the carnality of the Corinthian church
(Ex.18:20). Is it part of yours? Once more, the legal remedy is public
execution (Ex. 22:10; Deut. 22:22). A
servant girl, when taken in adultery, is only to be scourged because she wasn’t
free to choose (Lev. 19:20).
The
examples of the Pentateuch were written for us to have a learning at another’s
expense (1 Cor. 10:6). If we will learn
from their mistakes--we won’t have to make our own. The first example is when Israel elected the wrong god (1 Cor.
10:7; Ex. 32:6). Second is when Israel
adapted the wrong sexual lifestyle (1 Cor. 10:8; Num. 25:1-9) which resulted in
the death of 24,000 people. They also
made an improper ecumenical yoke with unbelievers (2 Cor.6:14-18). Ammon and Moab were the bastard children of
Lot and God said they were not invited into the congregation of His people
(Deut. 23:2-4).
The third
example is that of tempting Christ (1 Cor. 10:9). Israel complained about a lack of water. In response they get poisonous snakes (Num. 21:6). Such mischief needs to be overcome by responsible
leadership. Often it is the leaders who
set the pace in complaining (Ezk. 11:1-2).
After
the incident of the golden calf that Aaron made God wanted to destroy all
Israel. Moses intercedes and says
Israel and the Name of God would be subject to ridicile from Egypt because of
their mischief (Ex. 32:12 [r' ra` {rah} , wickedness, mischief, hurt, bad, trouble
disagreeable, bad, (giving
pain, unhappiness, misery).
Israel was unpleasantly and malignantly disagreeable. Aaron told Moses “they are set on mischief”
(Ex 32:22). Paul accuses a man to be
full of mischief that led to perverting God’s way (Acts 13:8: r`a|diourgi,a rhadiourgia {hrad-ee-oorg-ee'-a} ). This man had a love of a lazy effeminate
lifestyle and was totally unscrupulous.
The
fourth example is that of murmuring against God and God’s leader when someone
makes an evil report (1 Cor.10:10). At
Kadash-Barnea eight of the ten spies said victory could not be won and they
turned the citizens against Moses. The
citizens begin to complain (Num 14:2).
As a result they wonder in the desert for 40 years until they are all
dead (Ex. 14:29).
Such
a tongue of mischief is like a sharp razor cutting deceitfully (Psa. 52:2: Heb. hW"h; havvah
{hav-vaw'} ). It is a tongue that
utters perverse naughty desires. Such
an imagination is so despicable that their mischievous devices can not be
accomplished (Psa. 21:11: hM'zIm. m@zimmah
{mez-im-maw'}). Out of their
wicked thoughts come witty inventions that plot to do acts of lewdness. They are mischievous persons (Pro. 24:8).
These
sexual perverters are unregenerate bastards (Heb. 12:8). A true son of the Father will lead a life of
holy discipline (Heb. 12:7), and not be caught in the act (Jn. 8:3). If you are having difficulty getting your
prays answered may be you need to look at the lustful scale of your sexual
thought life (James 4:3-4).
Paul
concludes his second letter to Corinth still struggling with this problem of
“uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness” and thier lack of repentance
(2 Cor. 12:21). What kind of mischief
are you in to that you need to repent of?

Yea, seven are an abomination unto him:”

A FALSE WITNESS
The worst of all
false witnesses is the professing Christian that teaches WORKS in association
with or a part of eternal salvation instead of by GRACE! Salvation goes to the righteous -- not the
self-righteous.
Noah is found
righteous in his generation (Gen. 7:1).
His righteousness extends to his family and where God’s call for
salvation is given it is for the whole family (Gen 7:7). The
other families of men, the “nay-sayers”, were left outside and destroyed (Gen.
7:21-22). When the flood-tide was
assuaged (Gen.8:1) God gave the kingdom to Noah and his family (Gen. 8:17;
1:28). After Noah offers a sweet
smelling sacrifice God takes note and declares His comprehension that man is
evil from the day he is born
(Gen. 8:21).
God calls Abraham
out of Ur and promised him Canaan land (Gen. 12:1), and a family seed that will
bless the world (Gen. 12:2). To help
God out (WORKS) Sara gives Abraham Hagar who bares Ishmael (Gen. 16:2). After Issac is born God has Abraham separate
(segregate) Ishmael from Isaac (PROMISE)(Gen 21:12).
As Isaac grows God
tests Abraham’s faith (NOT WORKS). Abe
is told to take his promised seed and sacrifice him back to God
(Gen.22:2). Abrham’s response is
obedience (Gen. 22:5), and his theology is “God will provide himself a
sacrifice” (Gen 22:8).
Later the sons of
Jacob sold Joseph into Egypt out of spite (WORKS) (Gen. 37:25-28).
When Joseph becomes Prime Minister and is able to preserve life he tells
his brothers that it was God who sent him there (FAITH)(Gen.45:5).
When Jacob is
about to die he calls his twelve sons together and pronounces his prophesy on
each of them (Gen. 49:1). Reuben is
unstable and will not excel because of adultery (WORKS)(Gen. 49:3-4). Simeon and Levi, because of the affair of
Diana, will be scattered in Israel and disinherited (WORKS)(Gen. 49:5-7). Judah holds the “sceptre” of legal
precedence and the lineage of “Shiloh”(PROMISE)(Gen. 49:8-12). Zebulun will be a family of seamen in Zidon
(WORKS)(Gen. 49:13). Isachar became a
bearer of burdens and a servant judge with the bite of a snake (WORKS)(Gen.
49:16-18). Gad was overrun by a troop
but eventually prevailed (WORKS)(Gen. 49:19).
Asher yielded royal dainties and baked goods (WORKS)(Gen. 49:20). Naphtali would live a loose life-style while
having good things to say (WORKS)(Gen. 49:21).
Joseph was fruitful but under the gun.
He was made strong by the God of Jacob (GRACE) who gave us the Shepherd
of Israel (GRACE)(Gen. 49:22-26).
Benjamin is a wolf--devouring and dividing (WORKS)(Gen. 49:27). After Jacob dies Joseph’s brothers fear his
wrath based on their WORKS, but Joseph gives them God’s GRACE of salvation
(Gen. 50:19-20).
When God sends
Moses to Egypt to deliver Israel, Moses is to declare he is sent by the “I AM”,
the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Ex.3:14-15: FAITH PROMISE). God PROMISES deliverance out of Egypt and
possession of the land He PROMISED to Abraham (Ex. 3:17). When Israel leaves Egypt “not a hoof” is to
be left behind (Ex.
10:26). God separates (segregates)
Israel from Egypt (Ex. 11:7). The WORKS
of the flesh are to be destroyed (Ex. 11:5).
The separated
family of God is to be passed-over (Ex.12:11) while the WORKS of the flesh are
to be judged (Ex. 12:12). The blood of
the lamb was applied (FAITH)(Ex. 12:22) and as the death-angel passed by to
destroy Egypt (WORKS) he passed-over the blood (GRACE).
When Israel gets
to the Red Sea, with Pharoah in pursuit, fear sets in and Moses says “stand
still and see the salvation of the Lord” (Ex.14:13). Without a weapon of warfare Israel escapes and the Egyptians are
drowned (Ex. 14:30-31).
After escaping
Egypt (WORKS), Aaron and sons are declared God’s priests (Ex.28:2). Every adult over age twenty is to pay a
“ransom note” to God’s priest (Ex.30:12-16) [ a tithe if you will ]. This funding helped provide for the priest’s
wardrobe which included the ephod with the names of God’s children. The ephod was borne by the priest when he
entered God’s presence on behalf of God’s children. One item the priest did for God’s children was to offer the
“scapegoat” (FREEDOM) for their sin (WORKS) (Lev. 16:8).
To insure that the
PROMISES proceed from generation to generation fathers were told to perpetually
instruct their children in the ways of
God (Deut. 6:3-9; 11:18-21). One
of these instructions was the provision of “cities of REFUGE” (GRACE) in the
PROMISED land for those accused of crime (WORKS)(Josh. 20).
Because of God’s
PROMISE to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob He removed one king and replaced him with
a king Israel could defeat (2 Kings 13:23-25).
God took David from tending sheep and made him king over Israel -- the
REDEEMED (GRACE) out of Egypt (WORKS)(I Chron. 17:21-22). Solomon rose up in his father David’s place
and built the temple. In his dedication
prayer he acknowledges that the accomplishment was by PROMISE (2 Chron. 6:10).
Beldad the Shuhite
ask a compelling question in light of the uncleanness of man: “How then can man
be justified with God?” (Job.25:4-6).
The answer is the begotten Son (Psa. 2:7) -- He is the Lord our refuge
(Psa. 9:9). Jacob’s only hope of
recovery is in the Lord (Psa. 14:7). He
gave deliverance to David and his seed and He can do the same for you (Psa.
18:50; 49:1). You can not do it for
yourself or your brother (Psa. 49:7-8).
Cost too much!
If you want
redemption from the grave it will have to come from the Lord (Psa. 49:15). If you die outside of the Lord’s redemption
you will be in darkness (Psa.
49:19). The gathering of God’s children
will be based on a sacrificial covenant (Psa. 50:5). When Jesus comes back to Zion then will His people Jacob be
released from captivity (Psa. 53:6).
God has no covenant with the bloody and deceitful of the earth (Psa.
55:20,23). If you want to be
established then you must be committed to the Lord (Psa. 16:3).
Only when the
BRANCH of David comes in the power of the Holy Spirit will righteous judgment
be rendered on the earth. Then will the
wolf and lamb lie down in peace -- side by side (Isa. 11:1-10). To bring this rest to pass the Lord must
first bring forth the day of vengeance, taking the strength of the unicorn, and
turning the enemy to dragons and satyrs (Isa. 34).
Jesus came as the
BRANCH and provided light for the blind (Isa. 35:7) and healing for the lame
(Isa. 35:6). The dragon is overruled
(Isa.35:7) and a highway is prepared for the wayfarers -- the way of holiness
(GRACE)(Isa. 35:9)-- for the RANSOMED (Isa. 35:10). These are they whose transgressions have been blotted out (Isa. 43:25). It took an outsider because Israel was in
transgression from conception
(Isa. 48:8).
If you are to have
redemption (GRACE) then it is God who will hear you, provide SALVATION, the
help to receive it, and give you a covenant of preservation (Isa. 49:8). His SALVATION is forever for it is His
righteousness that endures (Isa. 51:6-8).
He overcomes Rahab the Dragon (Isa. 51:9) and provides a way through the
water for the RANSOMED to pass through (eg.:Red Sea, Jordan)(Isa. 51:9-10).
The feet of John
the Baptist went before Jesus to bring the good tidings of His arrival (Isa.
52:7), and now these tidings have circled the earth (Isa. 52:10). When all was said and done concerning Jesus,
God looked down and said “I’m satisfied” (Isa. 53:11).
God’s satisfaction
will bring in an everlasting covenant of the MERCIES of David (Isa. 55:3). Through the Holy Spirit the captives are set
free (GRACE)(Isa. 61:1). Such MERCY and
love will bring forth the bride and the Bridegroom and the marriage supper
(Isa. 61-62). There will be a new life
with a new wife in a New Heaven and a New Earth (Isa. 66).
In the meanwhile
we are to be watchmen (Ezk. 3:17-21).
God wants to gather all together and give a new spirit (Ezk.
11:16-19). He also wants to re-instate
the Davidic Kingdom under a covenant of peace (Ezk. 34:22-25; 37:24). Eventually Messiah will be King (Dan.
9:23-27). He came out of Bethlehem
(Micah 5:2) to cast our sins in the abyss (Micah 7:19)(COMPASSION), by His
MERCY (Micah 7:20). The desire of all
nations came (Haggai 2:6-7) -- he will come again!
Matthew, Chapter
One lists the genealogy of Jesus. Among
those listed is Thamar (vs3), Ruth a Moabite (vs5), and Bethsheba (vs6), and
Rahab the harlot (vs.5). Thamar played
the harlot yet her son was included in the messianic line (Gen. 38:24). Rahab was a harlot but got in by FAITH (Heb.
11:31). Ruth was a Maobite from LOT,
yet got in by love and FAITH (Ruth 2:12).
Bethsheba got in after David’s adultery and murder because God put away
his sin (2 Sam. 12:13).
Now we have Jesus
to save us (Mt. 1:21) -- the virgin born Emanuel -- God with us (Mt.
1:23). Through Him many will be able to
join Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom (Mt. 8:11-13). Through Jesus -- sins are forgiven (Mt.
9:2). Through Him -- FAITH makes you
whole (Mt. 9:2-22).
Jesus is to
baptize in the Holy Ghost (Mk. 1:8). He
can do so because He became the ransom for the many (Mk. 10:45). Under His rule sinful women are forgiven
(Lu.7:47; Jn.8:1-11). In the end His
own nation said they would not have Him reign
(Lu. 19:14). As Jesus was crucified He said “IT IS
FINISHED!” (Jn. 19:30) and provided for the Kingdom of God (Acts 1:3).
By His blood we
are reconciled (GRACE) (Rom. 5:9-10) and brought to justification (Rom.
5:16). The road Paul laid out for the
Romans is in Chapter Ten, Verses Eight through Thirteen:
8: But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in
thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10:
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation. 11: For the scripture saith, Whosoever
believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12: For there is no difference between
the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call
upon him. 13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved.
The remnant are elected to
salvation by GRACE, not WORKS (Rom. 11:5-6).
It is the outcome of PROMISE to Abraham (Gal. 4:23-24) and it sets us
FREE (Gal. 4:31). We become heirs to
the kingdom when we believe God (James 2:5) as did Abraham (James 2:23). When we believe we become elected sons of
the Father, begotten by Jesus Christ through the WORD (I Pet. 1:1-4,23). We then are PROMISED a part of the divine
nature (2 Pet. 1:4), and a part in the everlasting kingdom (2 Pet. 1:8-11). SO-- you can believe and have eternal life
-- or you can not believe and do without (I John 5:13) -- but don’t believe the
FALSE WITNESS of WORKS salvation!

HE THAT SOWETH DISCORD AMONG THE BRETHREN
There is nothing
more disruptive to the family, or the church, or society in general, than a
woman who is “out-of-order”. It has
been apply said that “woman was created after man and has been after him ever
since.”
God’s order of
presidence was set in the Garden of Eden after the yielding to the
tempter. Eve, separated from her
husband, not the serpent and was beguiled by his perverting of God’s Words and
a promise (like the Mormons) to be a god.
Her temptation was three-fold: the eyes, the desire, and wisdom. Eve in turn asked her husband Adam the
universal question of lovers: “Do you love me enough to die for me?” Adam’s answer was “Yes!” (Gen.
3:1-7).
When God comes by,
and they find themselves in the nude, God asks how did they know? Adam blames the woman, and the woman
cops-a-plea with “the devil made me do it”.
As a result a war ensues that has carried on for 6,000 years. What would have been painless childbirth
now turns to sorrow and the woman is placed in subjection to the man (Gen.
3:10-16).
As a result of the
curse God eventually gives the law through Moses. Part of that law is the uncleanness and purification of the
woman. If the woman bares a son she is
unclean seven days. If a daughter, she
is unclean sixty-six days. Following
her separation she has to offer an atoning sacrifice for her uncleanness (Lev.
12:1-7). Further, the “seed of
copulation” coming from the man, and the issue of blood from the woman are
unclean and require a time of separation, cleansing, and atonement (Lev.
15:16-33). Despite these distinctions
by God for the woman the provision is made for daughters to have a part in the
inheritance of their father (Num.27:36; Josh. 17:3-4).
Vows or promises made to God
by a spouse or daughter can be dis-allowed by the husband/father when he
becomes aware of them. By his word they
may stand or fall -- so long as the daughter is living at home (Num 30). Deuteronomy 21:15-17 deals with the
birthright of the firstborn son, while Deuteronomy 22:5 deals with men and
women’s dress.
After Joshua led
Israel against Jericho and Ai he built an alter to worship God. As part of this service he read all the law
of Moses to all the people -- including the women and children. They need the law also (Josh. 8:35).
Being a servant
does not mean to go unnoticed or unused by God. When King Josiah heard the word of God against Israel he sent
messengers to inquire of God. The
response to the king came by way of a prophetess at a local college (2 Chrn.
34:22). She was doing God’s business
--God’s way -- and was in a position to be used of God.
Another example of
a woman being used of God by her servitude is Esther. After Queen Vashti (Est. 1:18) was vanquished the King began a
search for her replacement. Mordecai,
Esther’s uncle, was on hand to see that Esther was one of the candidates. During the election process Mordecai gave
Esther directions which she followed.
Esther became queen. In process
of time Haman plots against Mordecai and the Jews (Est. 3:8-15).
Again, under the direction of Mordecai, Esther is able to save her
people and hang Hamon.
When Job is
attacked by Satan, with the Lord’s permission, his wife suggests he curse God
and die. Job calls her a fool (Job
2:9-10). Are you a fool to your husband
or are you a supporter?
Psalm Forty-Five
is a messianic psalm about the second coming of Jesus (vs1-8). The Psalmist says that the King’s daughters
are honourable women dressed as royalty (vs.9,13). The King’s daughters forsake others for His cause and worship Him
(v.10-11). Her dress-code is befitting
a King’s daughter and her companions are virgins (vs14). The children of a King’s daughter become
princes and rule in the earth (vs16).
Her name is remembered for all generations (vs17). Are you a daughter of the King of
kings? Or do you sew discord?
If you are a
daughter of the King then he will be the builder of your house (Psa. 127:1). The children you will bare will be His fruit
(vs3). They will be shameless and set
in the place of authority(vs5). The
wife, who is the King’s daughter, will be fruitful to her husband. She will see her great-grand children and
live in peace (Psa.
128:3,6). This is simular to the
covenant God made with David -- it is based on holiness (Psa. 132:11-12). Will it happen to you?
If you are not the
King’s daughter, are you a “strange woman” (Pro. 2:16)? Do you seduce your way with flattery? Do you leave God and your Christian parents
out of the equation (Pro.2:17)? When
people leave your web are they dead or alive (Pro. 2:18-19)?
Do your lips drop sweet honey and snake oil? Do you steps lead others to the depths of hell (Pro. 5:3-5)? A King’s daughter will be a wife of
rejoicing (Pro. 5:16-19):
16: Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and
rivers of waters in the streets. 17: Let them be only thine own, and not
strangers' with thee. 18: Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the
wife of thy youth. 19: Let her be as
the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times;
and be thou ravished always with her love.
Only God’s law can
keep a young man from such a “strange woman” (Pro. 6:23-24).
Her beauty is lust and her eye-lids are seductive. She is just a whore and will bring a man to
poverty and adultery (Pro. 6:25-26).
Such adultery shows a lack of understanding and is self-destructive
(Pro. 6:32-33).
Understanding
comes form the law of the King. It will
deliver the young man from the “strange woman” (Pro. 7:5). Without this understanding a young man
becomes a simpleton in the eyes of a whore (Pro. 7:7). This whore will dress so as to insnare this
young man (Pro. 7:10). She will run him
down on the street at night and entice him with her kisses (Pro. 7:13). If necessary she will feign religion to gain
his sympathy (Pro. 7:14). She will preach a gospel of love (Pro.
7:15-18). This simpleton falls at her
feet, ends up dead, and in eternal damnation (Pro. 7:21-27).
This woman is not
a King’s daughter. She herself is a
simpleton (Pro. 9:13). She finds a good
location where the traffic flows and calls for passers-by to come to her house
(Pro. 9:14-16). She preaches a gospel
of “sweet water” , but it ends in hell (Pro. 9:17-18).
A King’s daughter
will be a virtuous wife to her husband.
You can tell who is not by the shame they cause (Pro. 12:4). She will have grand-children that will make
the grand-father proud (Pro. 17:6).
Whoever finds this woman for a wife finds a “good thing’ and God’s
blessing (Pro. 18:22). On the other
hand, the perpetual nagging of a woman is like a dripping faucet that can’t be
stopped (Pro. 19:13). This is why some
husbands work late or play golf all week-end (Pro. 21:9,19). These are “strange women” and their mouths
are a “deep pit” (Pro. 22:14).
If the King’s sons
wishes to avoid these “strange women” he should avoid drinking and those place
that promote drinking (Pro. 23:29-35).
The King says there are four things hard to comprehend: the eagle’s
flight, a rock climbing snake, a ship underway, and a man with a woman (Pro.
30:18-19). He then compares the same
mystery to an adulterous woman who thinks her violations of the seventh
commandment are not a sin (Pro. 30:20).
Such a woman is unbearable when she is married (Pro. 30:23).
The virtuous
King’s daughter is described in Proverbs, Chapter Thirty-One, Verses Ten
through Thirty-One. I have para-phrased
it as follows:
The
LOVE
of a Mature Woman
A woman of virtue is priceless,
Her husband trusts her for his needs
which she gives in a good attitude.
She is a handy seamstress and an excellent
shopper.
She gets up before dawn to fix breakfast.
She buys land to make a garden.
She is strong.
She knows her work is good.
She is still working after dark.
She knows how to make clothes from scratch.
She takes care of the poor and needy.
Winter doesn’t bother her because
she has the clothes for her family.
She makes blankets for warmth.
Her husband is a community leader.
She makes quality clothes and sells them.
She rejoices in strength and honor.
She speaks in wisdom and kindness.
She is in-charge of her house and never idle.
Her children and husband praise her
and call her blessed.
She excels in her labor and she fears God.
She reaps the rewards of her own good labor of
love
Proverbs
30 (paraphrased by Ken Lierle)
If you are not a
King’s daughter then you can be found to be more bitter than dying. You can be a snare that leads to sin, or you
can be a “God pleaser” (Eccl. 7:26).
Such a virtuous woman of the King can not be found if you count to a
thousand (Eccl. 7:28). Does your husband have with you the physical
relation described in the Song of Solomon?
When women are out
of order concerning “God’s way” it leads the nation to be governed by women and
children. Such became the case with
Israel (Isa. 3:4,12). How is it with
your family? Your church? Your country?
If all wives and
mothers were daughters of the King they would be properly instructing the
children from the time they are weaned
(Isa. 28:9). The prophet says to the
ladies --”don’t be careless” (Isa. 32:9).
Carelessness leads to much trouble and fruitlessness (Isa. 32:10). Such
a thought should drive a woman to tremble and mourn for her losses (Isa.
32:11-12). The biggest loss is to the
family by divorce (Isa. 50:1). Can you
be satisfied with such transgressions?
One big
transgression of women is the going astray from God to false religion. The biggest anti-Christian sect is the
worship of the “Queen of Heaven”. Are
you guilty (Jer.. 44:15-19)? Such
idolatrous conduct leads to desolation and bitterness (Lam. 1:4). You end up naked (Lam. 1:8). Such a life of “Pro-Choice” can lead to
cannibalism (Lam.2:20; 4:10). The end
is orphans and widows (Lam. 5:3).
Ezekiel sees the
same idolatry that Jeremiah saw among the women (Ezk. 8:14), and right behind
the women were the men (Ezk. 8:16).
Ezekiel gives warning to those women who dabble in soul-searching or channeling
(Ezk. 13:18) [ note 13 and 18; 18 = 666 ].
Two good chapters to read are Ezekiel Sixteen and Twenty-Three.
Additional insight
will be found in the book of Hosea [ study the Seven Step Lecture Series on
Hosea ]. Joel sends God’s call to repent,
calling the people to sanctification: i.e., the children, babies, bridegrooms,
and the bride (Joel 2:16). For those
who rebel there will be prostitution, witchcraft, and nakedness (Nahum 3:4-5).
Jesus compares the
Kingdom of Heaven with a woman putting leaven in her home-made bread (Mt.
13:33). What are you doing as a woman
for the kingdom? Do you have the faith
of the Canaanite woman to have her daughter healed (Mt. 15:22-28)? Jesus says that the Kingdom is for
“virgins”. There are the wise and there
are the foolish. The wise were ready
when the Lord came -- the fools were NOT (Mt. 25:1-10)! The woman who anointed Jesus for burial was
said to have done what she could (Mk. 14:8).
What have you done?
If you are a
“doer” of the King’s work then you can bear the name “Tabitha Dorcus”. She was a woman of good works, and charity
(Acts 9:36). On the other side is the
demonized woman who accosted Paul in Macedonia (Acts 1616-18). Which woman are you closest to?
The Christian
King’s Daughter will remember her role in the marriage covenant in that she is
bound to her husband (Rom. 7:2).
Leaving her husband (DIVORCE: see Seven Step Lecture Series on Divorce)
and remarrying is equal to adultery (Rom. 7:3). Fornication is avoided by marriage (I Cor. 7:2), but if you break
the bond you are a fraud (I Cor. 7:5) and should remain un-married or be
reconciled to your husband (I Cor. 7:11) (The exception is in verse 15).
Paul reiterates
the order set by God in that the man is the head over the woman (I Cor. 11:3) in that the woman was created for the man (I Cor.
11:9). One natural God-given visual aid
for this is the long hair of the woman (I Cor. 11:15).
In the structure
of the body of the church, concerning prophesy and the gifts of the Spirit, the
woman is to learn in silence and ask her questions of her husband AT HOME (I
Cor. 14:34-35)! Remember -- it was the
woman who was “beguiled” -- not Adam (2Cor. 11:3).
Paul, in his
letter to Ephesis, in Chapter Five, speaks of fornication and other sins (Eph.
5:3) and then leads into the husband/wife relationship. He once again substantiates the position of
husband over wife (Eph. 5:23). He
relates this submission to husband as to the Lord (Eph. 5:22). The two of them emmerse into a union of ONE
(Eph. 5:31).
When Paul writes
to Timothy he says the same things: i.e., dress code (I Tim.2:9); good works
(2:10); learn in silent subjection (2:11); and women are not to teach or be in
authority over men (2:12). Adam came
first (2:13) and Eve was deceived (2:14).
When you read I
Timothy, Chapter Three on the offices of Bishop and Deacon how do you expect
the man filling that office to maintain the “home” standard if his wife is not
behind him on the home front? In
Chapter Five Paul addresses the care of “Christian” widows by the church
(5:3-11). Women are to be judged on the
basis of their faith, prayer life (vs.5), lifestyle (vs.9), good works, good
mother, good hostess, care takers, and diligence (vs. 10). The “under-aged” widows are to re-marry, bear
children, and guide the house (vs.14).
Timothy’s faith is
a result of his mother and grand-mother (2 Tim. 1:5). What part did your mother play in your faith? Older women’s behavior is to be holy,
without lying and drunkenness. They are
to teach that which is good. This
includes teaching young women to “love their husbands” and their children. This teaching also covers discretion,
chastity, home-making, and obedience to their husbands (Titus 2:3-5).
Peter, having set
Christ as the example (I Pet. 2:21), says to the wives to be in subjection to
their husbands (I Pet. 3:1). This is
coupled with chaste conversation and a holy dress code (vs. 2-3), which comes
from the heart of meekness and quietness (vs.4). Sara, and the other Old Testament women, are held up as examples
of this holiness (vs.5-6).
As daughters of
the King and virgins preparing for a marriage supper are you a godly holy woman
or a loud-mouth rebel? If your wedding
garment was based on your holiness -- would you be wearing white (Rev.
19:7-9)? Are you an abomination to God
by the dis-cord you create?
End Abomination #7: Discord
