MAKE SURE YOU EAT ALOT OF TURKEY 
SOME VERY GOOD RECIPES:
Sweet Potato and Apple Harvest Pie
1 unbaked 9 inch pastry shell
1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup dairy sour cream
1 1/3 cups fresh California sweet potatoes, yam variety
1 egg
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup pecan pieces
2 1/2 cups California Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
thin
Whipped cream and pecan halves for garnish
Bake pastry shell at 350 degrees for 7 minutes. Set aside.
In mixing bowl, combine
flour and cinnamon; blend in sour cream. With electric
mixer at medium speed,
beat in sweet potatoes, egg, sugar, and vanilla until
smooth. Stir pecan pieces and
apple slices in by hand. Pour into prepared pastry shell.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40
to 45 minutes or until set. Cool. Garnish with whipped
cream and pecan halves, if
desired.
PUMPKIN PIE
Pastry for 9-inch One-Crust Pie
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 can (16 ounces) pumpkin
1 can (12 ounces) evaporated
milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
Smoked Turkey with Baked Apples
1 smoked turkey
6 baking apples, cored and 1
1/2" of
the
skin removed around the top
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
6 tbsp. butter
Directions:
Thaw turkey. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place
turkey in a roaster
pan. You may want to cover the turkey for the
last half of cooking
time. Place the cored apples in a glass baking
dish. Pour water in
bottom. Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Fill
the centers of the
apple with the sugar and spices. Place a tablespoon
of butter on
each top. Cover. Bake both the turkey and apples
for approximately
50-60 minutes.
